I grab my phone of the bed and scroll through my socials. Scrolling I hear some noises and furrow my brows. Is it Grey?
Pulling the blankets off, I bounce off the bed and look at the window for my reflection. Quickly I stuff my hair into a side braid in order to pull it off my face before I leave the room. Heading down the hall I see a fluff of blonde hair.
"No." Grey says frigidly.
"Alright. I'll just tell Madi and see what she says! You think she'll be happy if I tell her?"
"For fucks sake." Grey growls out.
Entering the living room, I see Lucas. My eyes widen and a huge smile is plastered on his face. He walks over to me with open arms. I let him hug me out of pure shock and as he pulls away I just stare up at him.
"Hey V!" He greets happily.
"Hey! Wow. It's been so long." I smile up at him and shake my head. "You know Jamie is still- never mind."
I probably shouldn't put my best friend out and open. Especially in front of her ex.
I'm not sure how they broke up but one day she just stopped talking about him. I assumed she didn't want to talk about it, so we just never did. However, she has yet to talk to other guys or even go on a date with another guy. She'll be out and about somewhere, but she never tells me anything.
Lucas looks at me with an amused smile until Grey stands up and stalks towards us.
It's seven in the morning and Grey is wearing a suit already. It is wayyy too early.
"Lucas and I have business to attend." He pats Lucas's shoulder harshly making Lucas bobble back a bit. "I'll be back around one to take you home." He glances down at an expensive watch on his wrist.
"No. It's fine I'll just walk ho-" I wave my hand.
"I'll see you at one." He smiles curtly and turns towards the elevator.
"It's not a big deal I only live j-" I walk quickly to catch up to their speed.
"Violet," He warns "I will take you home. You are not walking home alone in this dangerous city." He states looking down at me.
I bite my lip to shut myself up and walk towards the elevator with them.
"Bye guys." I wave at them with a smile.

Leaving her made me feel like a complete asshole...
I hate my father for leaving his entire business to me and not giving me any help. Of course, he tried training me in the most brutal ways of self-defense, but those days are better off left not remembered.
He trained me more to fight than to do logical business. His constant conflict was his fault and now that he's dumped everything on me, I have to sort everything out and resolve all his udder bullshit. He did this and knew the hell it would cause me, but now he's who-knows where living his best life while his son has to sort out all his shit.
Men have been following me lately and It's because of the delivery time. Usually, Pedro sends men to watch me like hound dogs the month the delivery is due. I always make it to deadline but for some reason the two hound dogs stare like I have committed the most heinous crime known to mankind.
I have a team house who handles more complex matters, but my business is my cover up that my asshole of a father never seemed to think of. He thought killing and running away was business. Over my dead body will I ever repeat his dumb and unplanned actions.
"You know Mercutio is waiting?" Lucas asks as he head towards my car in the garage. He types away on his phone no doubt talking to one of the men at the warehouse dealing with Mercutio.
"For fuck sakes." I grip my hair in aggravation.
I might look like I have my shit together, but time management makes me want to pull my hair out.
"Hey man, he likes you! Your good-"
"I don't give a fuck. Bruce fucked everything up and I can't afford the reputation I worked so fucking hard for to fall."
"Right." Lucas agrees quickly not wanting to aggravate me more.
We enter my car and I speed off. "So... V huh?" Lucas looks out the window with his fucking dumbass smirk.
I stay silent because Lucas usually is annoying so ignoring him is the best solution. He usually gets the hint. Keyword, usually.
"You know I really didn't think you had it in you." He presses my buttons. "I mean four years Grey. She could be in a relationship with someone else by now. Did you think of that?" He tests me.
"Shut the fuck up." I warn him.
"If I gave up Jamie the way you did, I wouldn't hold it against her." He shrugs and looks out the window. "I wouldn't even be surprised if I looked down and saw a huge rock on her finger either."
He's such an asshole today.
