This might be a long one, but here goes nothing
Ok so I'm gonna do my favorite bands past and present right here right now
Let's start off with The Doctor Who. The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964 by singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwisle, and drummer Keith Moon. They were part of the British Invasion and were also the loudest band at one point in time. In 1979, Keith Moon died in which he was replaced and John Entwisle died in 2002. They are still playing today
I love The Who. No big secret. I love their raw sound and oh my god on stage they just dominated the whole thing.
And Keith Moon h o l y-
Ok so let's go to Zed Zeppelin
So Led Zeppelin were a British rock band formed in London of 1968 by singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones (who I'll refer to as Jonesy), and drummer John Bonham (who I'll refer to as Bonzo)
Also I've been spelling Bonzo's last name wrong this whole time. Oh well
Anyway, they had that one song that gets you kicked out of Guitar Center and dominated the world in the 70s before Bonzo's death in 1980. The band would go on to disband not without performing at Live Aid and having that one reunion in 2008. But, they have not formally played together since 1980
Zeppelin was the band that really got me loving rock music. I blame it on the song D'yer Mak'er still their best song ever made. At least every one of their songs are a masterpiece (whether stolen or not). Jimmy oh my god what a guitarist, that guy is just amazing
Jonesy is highly underrated
I don't need to talk about Robert y'all already know the deal
And Bonzo h o l y -
Alright let's go to 0-3-5
So Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertfordshire in 1968 by singer Rod Evans, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, bassist Nick Simper, keyboardist Jon Lord, and drummer Ian Paice, though they are more known for their Mark II and quite frankly their best lineup with consisted of Blackmore, Lord, and Paige along with singer Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover. Yeah they made that one song that goes dun-dun-dun and they are still together today
I forgot to mention: In case you've never listened to heavy metal, 0-3-5, Zed Leppelin, and Black Sabbath are known as the three main bands who basically started heavy metal
So yeah, I really like Deep Purple. You got their progressive masterpiece that is Child In Time but you also got their heavier stuff like Space Truckin' and 0-3-5
Let's start a petition for Smoke On The Water to be the Rickroll for classic rock
To finish off the British bands, let's go to iT's A mETaPhOr bRIAn
So Queen are an English rock band formed in London in 1970 by singer and pianist Freddie Mercy, guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon, and drummer Roger Taylor. They made that one song that goes stomp stomp clap and Freddie died in 1991 by complications with AIDs. Yeah also John has been the best hide and seek champion and they sometimes play with Adam Lambert and there was that one movie made about them
I think y'all already know that it's thanks to me and all the annoying 12 year olds at the time that the movie came out is the whole reason why I can't listen to Queen anymore.
Buddy I can name at least 20 bands that are better than Queen by a mile
Alright last one we got *insert Alabama joke here*
Ok so Lynyrd Skynyrd are an American rock band formed in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida. I ain't even going into who was part of the band it was a lot of people you can blame it on them having 3 guitarists. They made that one song that is used for a lot of incest jokes and that other song that is law to play last and after the song that is used for a lot of incest jokes. In 1977, singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, backup singer Cassie Gaines, and a few other people died in a plane crash and that was really sad but they are still playing live today.
I still like the irony that the song That Smell was written about Gary Rossington because he got into a car crash and he's the only original member still alive
Anyway, thanks dad, you're the reason why Skynyrd holds a special place in my heart beside them being badass
Yeah these guys were no joke. They were the real deal and I'm so fortunate I saw them in 2015
Alright that's it see you later
