Only time will tell

Chapter 17: Ambush

Who am I? This question circled my head the rest of the day. My world has been turned and twisted to the point that I might lose myself in the process. Was I even the same I was before all this started? Did I change for the worse? I sighed if I am to continue down this path I need something to hold me up. How else was I supposed to keep going?

The next day Li Zian decided we all should go out together. We all felt stranded in this house. No matter how many things there were to do it would still drive a person crazy to stay in the same place for too long. We drove down the hills and found ourselves in down town Tianjin. Kira and Xing Lin went to the supermarket. Li Zian and I went to shop for new clothes. All I had been wearing these past weeks were Li Zian's clothes. It was too big for me. Li Zian pointed at some shirts.

"What about these?" He asked.

"Yes they are plain and simple. Take one in black and one in white" I instructed him.

We went further along the shop. I was looking at some pants when Li Zian suddenly pulled me to the side and hid me away.

"What's going on?" I questioned his actions.

Li Zian made a shushing gesture and looked out from where we were hiding. I peeked around the corner too and saw Heng Zixin with his men. I was about to speak up when Li Zian put a hand on my mouth. Heng Zixin was about to walk besides us. I panicked we were hiding from them. We would look so suspicious when they walked by. Li Zian had thought of a plan and quickly put a hat on me. He then proceeded to kiss me to make it look like just a couple in love. Heng Zixin walked out the shop with his men. Li Zian relaxed and leaned his head on my shoulder.

"Why did you do that? Don't we have the crystals?" I asked Li Zian.

"Heng Zixin is immortal too remember? The crystals only work on mortals so he can see through our disguise" Li Zian explained.

We walked out of the shop. We were to meet up with Kira and Xing Lin at the car. As we were waiting by the car I heard something rushling in the bushes. I thought I was just paranoid there couldn't be anything. We were disguised right? I heard another noice from the other side.

"Li Zian do you hear that?" I asked.

"Hear what?" Li Zian questioned.

Out from the bushes jumped Heng Zixin's men. They immediately started attacking us. Thanks to our paranoia we had our swords with us and we fought back. There kept coming more and more men. We couldn't fight them off. We had been ambushed. Out of thin air came Heng Zixin

"Did you two really think a simple hat could throw me off? Hah! You are so stupid" Heng Zixin mocked us.

"Heng Zixin! You bastard!" I shouted charging at him.

"Wait Xing Lei No!" Li Zian tried to warn me.

Heng Zixin disappeared again. He came from behind and tried to hit me but I disappeared into thin air too. Heng Zixin was dumbfounded and hit the ground instead. I hit him on his kidneys.

"You think you're the only one that can do that? Get over yourself" Now I was mocking him.

Heng Zixin picked himself up from the ground and charged at me once more. I glitched to the side of him. Heng Zixin ran right into one of his men which he stabbed. Now he was angry.

"Get back here you coward!" He snarred at me.

"No I don't think I will" I said and threw a fire ball at his head.

Heng Zixin ducked down and smirked. "Fine if this is what you want then I will give it to you."

Heng Zixin disappeared once more. He appeared again but disappeared just as fast. He sped up his pace and suddenly all I could see was a million Heng Zixins charging at me with murder in his eyes.
