Chapter 15: A Peaceful Life

I slowly woke up as I felt someone stroking my hair. I felt Li Zian hug me tight and cuddling me without knowing I was awake yet. I looked up at him and smiled. Li Zian looked down at me and gave me a warm smile back.

We didn't talk at all but was just quietly enjoying the moment. The moment we had longed for. The moment that could not come sooner. The moment that we wished would last forever.

I nuzzled my head into the nook of Li Zian's neck. Li Zian chuckled lightly at my silly behavior.

"I have missed you" I said muffled by the fact my face was planted directly into his neck.

"I missed you too" Li Zian responded.

I could feel his beautiful smile spreading across his face. Li Zian started moving to get out.

"Why are you leaving me" I pouted looking up at Li Zian.

Li Zian laughed again and said. "We need to start the day."

"But cuddles" I pouted streching my arms towards him.

"Okay just a little more and then we must get going" Li Zian replied coming back to bed.

We layed there long enough for the birds to start singing their morning song. Li Zian pulled me out of bed with him so I didn't sleep anymore.

We went downstairs to Kira still sleeping on the couch. She yawned and woke up. Kira jumped up on the kitchen counter.

"Good morning lovebirds" Kira said.

"Good morning" I responded to her while Li Zian looked at her annoyed.

"Ay Li Zian cut her some slack. Kira is pretty accurate" I stated.

"Good morning" Li Zian finally replied.

Li Zian started making breakfast for the four of us. It smelled delicious even though he just started cooking.

"I am gonna go wake the mortal" Kira stated and jumped off the counter.

I went over to Li Zian and hugged him from the back. Li Zian didn't mind and let me keep hugging him.

"Goodmorning" Xing Lin said coming into the kitchen and sat down.

"Goodmorning" Li Zian and I replied in unison.

I moved away from Li Zian and let him do his thing. I leaned on the counter. Kira came down again but this time she was human.

"Got tired of being on all four?" I asked her.

"Sometimes you wanna be more civilised I think you humans call it" she answered.

We started joking around as Li Zian prepared breakfast.

"Xing Lei you are so funny" Kira said and put her hand on my shoulder.

I froze up. This reminded me of.. Of... Of them. I was back in containment. They were cutting my hand off to see the healing. I was hyperventalating and screamed for my life. I tried to fight from under their grip but I couldn't. I was trapped here forever.

I was pulled back to reality when I heard Li Zian's calm voice call my name. I was crying. I was shocked at what I just saw before my eyes.

"Hey it's okay, it's okay, You're safe Xing Lei" Li Zian kept reassuring me.

"I am sorry" Kira apologised.

"You couldn’t have known" Li Zian responded and picked me up in his arms.

I was out of it. I couldn't think straight. What just happened? Why was I back there?

"Breakfast is ready, please start eating" Li Zian told the others as he carried me to the bedroom.
