This sucks. This fucking sucks. I am now currently trapped inside this cramped ass cage with a dozen other bats. I'm here with Vladimir and Ravy. Mike, Larry, and Ryan have already been adopted and it looks like Ravyncrowe is about to get adopted because that super sappy couple that was checking him out is now talking to the person at the cash register while pointing at our cage from time to time.
They soon come over and open the cage. As they're reaching for Ravy, I don't know WHY, but I just flew out of there. The humans were in shock for a millisecond before yelling. I could see them quickly closing the cage door trying to run after me, but I already made it out of the store from a crack in the door. I wasn't able to look at Ravyncrowe or Vlad before I flew out, so I have no idea what their reaction was to me just dashing out of there.
I look up at the sky. Middle of the day. Great. The sun is out too. Also great. I could feel the sunlight starting to burn my fur. Not in a "I'm gonna turn into ashes" way but a "I feel like I'm in the Sahara Desert" kind of way.
I fly down and take cover under a coffee shop. Tweek Bros I believe? I press my tiny body against the wall of the entrance so the edge of the roof with shade me. It's not much, but it's enough shade for now. I sit for about four minutes watching people walk in and out of the coffee shop. Soon enough, someone spotted me, as expected. I wasn't really expecting it to be fucking Henrietta Biggle.
She comes to the door and is about to open it, but she looks down right at me. She looks surprised for a minute before bending down to look me straight in the eyes. More like gay in the eyes. I've had a crush on her for about.... two years? Almost three. I don't know what about her attracted me, but what am I going to do when Cupid strikes?
Anyways, she looks at me for a while before muttering, "What a strange bat." I mean I can't blame her. What kind of bat is a light silver with brown wings? Also not every day you see a bat huddling into the corner of your local coffee shop. I start getting really uncomfortable and flustered so I just fly away. I look back as I'm gliding into the sky and she has gotten up and looks at me for a few moments before walking inside Tweek Bros Coffee.
After taking more cover, this time in an alleyway, I start thinking about what I should do now. The first thing I decide on is looking for Larry. He already checked up on Mike and told us he was okay, but I have no idea where he went after that. I better find him and make sure he didn't die or something.
I raise my wings and flew up. Ducking under a tree every so often, I look around for Larry, hoping that I would randomly just find him flying around. After about like an hour of this, I give up and just decide to look in specific locations. First place I check is the woods. Probably the most obvious place to look for a vampire. I scan my eyes through the woods and try to find him using echolocation, but I couldn't find him there.
Second place I check is the local Dairy Queen. He usually goes there three times a month for a strawberry milkshake. I know it's not likely that a bat would be at Dairy Queen but I'm already running out of ideas. It doesn't take long before I make it to the Dairy Queen. I look around the building. No sign of Larry. I scan inside the building from the windows. Still no sign of him. I fly above the drive-thru and see someone ordering a Brownie Batter Blizzard. Still no sign of Larry. I sigh and fly away from the ice cream restaurant.
The third place I check his house. I feel like it's not likely that he'll be there because his family neglects him and they would just kick him out instead of helping him, but I've got to try. It takes me a while, but I am able to spot Larry's house. As I'm flying down to his bedroom window, I hear a shrill cry.
