"People think it's odd that we do this but, honestly? I dont understand what all the badgering's about. I mean the T.V. is the size of two T.V.'s and it has a split screen option so why is it so strange to people that we watch different shows on our two-person T.V?.. (Y/n) are you listening?"
"Babe, can you hear me?"
"Baby?" Alycia asked gently, cautiously removing the headphone from my ear. "Are you watching the T.V.?"
"Hmm? Oh." I laughed. "I was.. Sort of."
"Well, what are you doing on your phone then, if you're not watching your show.." She rolled her eyes.
She was making fun of me probably, for some reason.
That or she's trying to nonchalantly but completely and totally chalantly bring up the "Two-Person T.V." debate again.
"I was watching something." I shrugged.
"Oh!" She smiled. "Was it something I did?"
"Why do you assume that everytime I'm watching something it has something to do with you?" I rolled my eyes at her, clicking out of the video.
"Because it usually does." She smirked. "Especially when you don't tell me about it because you think I dont know you stalk me when I'm sitting three feet from you. If I go check twitter-"
"I wasn't even on twitter, I was on YouTube and for your information I was watching an interview with Eliza and Marie in it. Absolutely nothing to do with you." I said matter o'factly.
"Did they talk about me?" She asked, her eyebrows knitting together over her forhead.
"I don't know, I only watched half of it." I shrugged, turning back to our T.V.
"Are you watching the T.V. now, then?" She asked after a moment and I nodded turning back to my show.
I was watching NCIS on the left half of the screen and Alycia was watching Tom & Jerry and some squid footage on the nature channel.
She either figured out how to spilt her spilt screen, or she "broke" it and just hasn't asked me to fix it yet.
"So.." She stated a few minutes later during a commercial. "Do you think it's weird that people think we're weird for watching different shows on our two-person T.V.?"
Oh, here we go..
"Darling, they don't think it's weird we watch two shows at once. They think you're weird for calling it a two-person T.V. when everyone else just sees a normal T.V." I sighed.
"But it's not a normal T.V, (Y/n).. It's a Two-person T.V." She stated quite obviously.
"Alycia, I've been living in the same house as you for three years now. I would think I'm qualified to recognize a two-person T.V. when I see one." I rolled my eyes once again.
"And?"
"And this is definitely a two-person T.V. apparently one of the only of its kind, but I don't see the problem with it. It's a nice T.V."
"So you you don't think it's weird?" She asked after a few more minutes of peace.
"What?" I asked.
"The T.V.." She asked eying it curiosly.
"Do you want to watch Tom and Jerry or The Nature Channel?" I asked grabbing her remote.
"It's squid mating season." She stated as if were completely common knowledge.
I already knew it was mating season for most of the world's squids, because it just so happens to be that my future wife hasn't stopped talking about squid babies in at least a week.
I pulled up the nature channel on the whole television and smiled as Alycia's face just lit up.
I spent the next hour or so glancing between my phone and the love of my life, who looked a lot like a child in a candy shop. Except with squid sex and babies of all shapes and sizes.
I mean, I can see where people think she's "weird" but if you spent ten minutes with her you'd fall in love with all this "non-sense" she talks about.
I was in college when we met, hoping to be a lawyer but I had the short end of the stick there. Turns out I'm not as good at arguing with the law as I had originally thought.
Some friends and I went out to a bar where I stumbled into Alycia and she and I were both a little tipsy. A very long story short, we drunkenly talked for hours until we decided to be best friends and she asked me to come back to her house for S'mores with her friend Maia.
I recognized Maia Mitchell. I surprisingly didn't freak out, and although I asked a bunch of stupid, drunk questions. I ended up staying with them for the next few days and I fell in love with Alycia's entire everything.
I played it cool for a few months, while our friendship grew into something more and she fell for me too. Though I still can't understand how somebody like her fell for something like me.
"Babe, I'm hungry. You want to go get something?" She asked as she came back from the bathroom.
"I can call the girls and see if they want to meet us at Asian Culture?" I asked, picking up my phone once again.
"Can we order in? I don't want to miss the squid's babies."
"Of course." I smiled, rolling my eyes and calling our favorite restaurant.
I ordered two different sample platters to share and Alycia's favorite chicken platter just the way she likes it. I got myself a sea food platter and a few different soups and sides for us to share later.
After double checking that there would be absolutely no squid on any of the platters, I hung up and snuggled back up to my lover on the couch.
"How long?" My beautiful Aussie asked as I laid my head on her shoulder.
"Well, you know how Lang is, thirty minutes or less.." I sighed, hugging her arm tightly.
"Did you get the wontons?" She grinned from ear to ear.
"Of course I did." I scoffed playfully.
Alycia put her arm around me and pulled me on her lap to cuddle, holding me too tight for me to move until the food arrived.
She gave me three short little kisses on the lips before turning back to her show on our "Two-person T.V."
