According kay James, we are tempted because of our own desires. "Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away." (James 1:14). Ano ba yung desires natin? Sexual desires, popularity, fame, to be rich? But imagine if Jesus became our only, one true desire. Our temptations, even if they are still there, we no longer submit under them. They are being weakened because we have a stronger desire for only God.
Our lives ALSO must be constantly guided by the Holy Spirit at all times, hindi lang sa malalaking desisyon sa buhay natin, pero sa maging sa mga maliliit na desisyon. 101% of our lives should be submitted under Him, not only 99.9% of us. Wag ka magtitira ng 0.01% ng hindi galing kay Lord kasi maaari itong lumaki.
When we are constantly led by the Lord, our lives become a living testimony. And to be led by Him is to REMAIN in Him. Now here's a question I always ask myself: HOW CAN I REMAIN IN JESUS?
Isa sa mga sinabi ni Jesus sa John 15 is "Remain in my words," eh ano ba yung words? That is, the promises of God written in the Bible. We are to be constantly reminded of God's Word in our lives. Syempre, dito papasok yung works and faith natin. HALA DI BA DI NAMAN NATIN MAPIPLEASE SI LORD SA SARILI NATIN? Okay kalma!
Ang TUNAY NA FAITH KAY JESYS nakikita sa actions. Di ba don nga nagalit si Jesus sa mga pharisees? Kasi di nila ginagawa yung mga sinasabi nila (ouch, Lord!). Faith in Jesus produces fruit in our lives. It is one of the products of remaining in Christ.
What we can do is to remind ourselves of His word. How? MEMORIZING! Anong sabi ni David sa Psalms? "I have hidden your word in my heart so that I might not sin against you." (Psalms 119:11). Okay hindi lang dapat itago. Dapat mag PENETRATE ito sa buong buhay natin. Dapat maabsorb ito ng isipan natin.
Remember na we are doing these in response to the grace of God found in Jesus. When we start to remain in Him and in His words, we are being transformed and aligned to His will and desires. We are no longer led by our own, sinful nature but led by Jesus Himself.
Remember na Jesus is the WORD. At ang role ng Holy Spirit sa atin is to remind us of His word. Kaya nga we must be responsive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit (remember na hindi magdedeviate si HOLY Spirit sa word of God).
