*Author's Note: Due to COVID-19, here in South Korea, we go to school on a 1/3 basis. Therefore, some updates might be a bit late than promised :(

Oh, and a question - if you write in 1st POV, do you have any tips for writing chapters in 1st POVs? I have tried it once, but my story became scattered in every place and the writing has been messy. I am planning to write stories in 1st POV in the near future, so...

Now, hop into the chapter, and I always hope you enjoy it! 😄

After the night, Lucinda did not meet anyone visiting the astronomy tower at night. Newt looked fine - or else, he was faking to be fine. There was something more behind his eyes.

Other than that, Lucinda could say she was adapting well in Hogwarts. At first, many Gryffindor students doubted her for the fact that she was a Malfoy, but they soon realized that Lucinda was different. Actually, the reason Lucinda became good friends with Newt, Teresa, and Thomas was that they did not know much about the wizarding world and the Malfoy family.

Days and weeks passed, and soon it was the 31st of October - Halloween. Since there will be a feast in the evenings, every student was excited about what will happen. And the mystery of the trapdoor-guarded-by-a-monster seemed to be forgotten.

On the very day of Halloween morning, the students woke up to the delicious smell of baking pumpkin. And something even better happened - Professor Flitwick in Charms class announced that the First Years were going to learn how to make objects fly. He sorted the students in pairs - Lucinda was paired up with Teresa.

"Now, don't forget that nice wrist movement we've been practicing! Swish and flick, remember, swish and flick. And saying the magic words properly is very important, too - never forget Wizard Baruffio, who said 's' instead of 'f' and found himself on the floor with a buffalo on his chest."

The spell was not easy. It seemed easy - say the words 'Wingardium Leviosa' with swishing and flicking one's hand. But as people say, it's easier said than done.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Nevertheless, probably at their twentieth try, when Teresa said the magic words, the white feather in front of the brunette flew. It hovered about four feet above their heads.

"Oh, well done! Everyone see here, Miss Agnes's done it!" Professor Flitwick complimented Teresa.

A few moments later, Lucinda could also succeed in the levitation charm. Once she got it right, it was not hard to use the spell. Around the class, some other students, such as Hermione also succeeded in using the charm.

Classes went by, and Lucinda went to the girls' toilet, quite surprised to find a crying Hermione.

 "Are you alright, Hermione?"

"No, I'm not. Please leave me alone," Hermione said through muffled sobs. Lucinda knew it was best to leave one alone to think about it when they said so, so she washed her hands and left the toilet.

The Halloween dinner was perfect. Live bats fluttered from the walls, then the feast appeared suddenly on the golden plates, as it had at the start-of-term banquet. There were many Halloween food, such as cuisines including pumpkins. But the dinner was not perfect as it seemed at the start.

Suddenly, Professor Quirrell came sprinting into the Hall, his turban askew and terror on his face. Everyone stopped eating and stared as he reached Professor Dumbledore's chair, gasping, "Troll - in the dungeons - thought you ought to know." Then he fainted on the floor.

The whole Hall burst into an uproar. It took some time to bring silence.

"Prefects," Professor Dumbledore rumbled, "Lead your houses back to the dormitories immediately!"

The Prefect of Gryffindor House, Percy Weasley, was right on his job. "Follow me! Stick together, First Years! No need to fear the troll if you followed my orders! Stay close behind me, now. Make way, First Years coming through! Excuse me, I'm a Prefect!"

However, Lucinda could not follow Percy. She remembered Hermione not returning to the Great Hall for dinner, and she supposed the girl was still in the toilet. That means Hermione did not know about the troll. She had to warn Hermione.

The blonde slipped out of the aisle of Gryffindor First Years and ran towards the girls' toilet.
