Dull. That was how Lucinda would describe a usually festive holiday. No fun, tight clothes, feasts, guests, and much more. She would do anything to go to Hogwarts and spend time with her three good friends. But life is unfair, what could she do?

What was worse, Lucinda's parents disregarded her much only because of the reason that she was sorted into a Gryffindor. Outside, they seemed to be calm, but her parents were colder than usual.

One morning, Lucinda heard her owl Midnight tapping the glass window. She opened the window and let Midnight in. The owl had an envelope and a small package in her beak. Who would have sent her a letter? Lucinda quickly opened the envelope and gave Midnight a treat.

Dear Lucinda,

Are you coping well? You complained a whole lot before going home. We (that is, me, Thomas, and Newt) decided to send you a small Christmas present by scraping our allowances together.

I hope you like it, and merry Christmas!

Also, we're enjoying Hogwarts' Christmas feast and such. Frankly, it's the best year I've had (though I don't remember some chunks).

Yours sincerely,

Teresa

P.S. The other Gryffindors say hi, too!

P.P.S. We've discussed the trapdoor, but there were not many good enough speculations. Nonetheless, I'm still curious about it.

The package contained a book about Astronomy, which included some advanced stuff that would be interesting. As reading the postscript Teresa wrote, Lucinda could not help wondering about the trapdoor. They have discussed it several times, but there was no single clue or good guesses.

But it was the forbidden corridor they have stepped on, and public research would make it obvious that Lucinda and her classmates have disobeyed the rules, which would lead to a reduction of points from Gryffindor.

Nevertheless, Lucinda's head was full of 'I want to go back to Hogwarts' during the winter Holiday season.

A few days later, Lucinda was back to school and she was extremely happy.

"I am just so happy to be back," the blonde girl let out a happy sigh as she ate her first breakfast back at Hogwarts.

"Even though we have a Herbology test three days later?" Newt reminded Lucinda of the upcoming assessments, and she immediately sighed.

"Don't remind me of it now! You sound like Teresa," Lucinda grunted and Teresa joined in the conversation.

"What's wrong with my reminders? You can't just fail on a test, Lucinda!"

"I know, Teresa. I have a notebook, and I check them every night. So there's no need to remind me in the middle of a happy breakfast!" Lucinda stabbed a poor egg fry with her fork and the fork went right through it, splattering oil on her hands.

"Eww, I have to wash my hands. See you guys," and the girl headed to the toilet.
