It had been 5 days now since Santana and Brittany broke up. Brittany had tried calling her many times but Santana didn't pick up, she just couldn't face it. She was hurting and just needed to focus on school and try and move on, even though she didn't want to do that at all.

"How are you feeling today Santana?" asked Rachel. "I just don't know what to do. I'm completely in love with her, I can't just switch off from that. I can't stop thinking about her" she replied, holding back her tears.

"If you guys are meant to be, things will work out. For now just keep yourself busy and give yourself time to process this. We're here for you" said Quinn as she hugged her best friend. "Thanks girls" replied Santana.

Around 12pm, Santana went for a nap as she had hardly slept in a week.

Quinn got off the couch to answer the door. It was Brittany. She had a suitcase with her and a bunch of flowers.

"Hi, Quinn. Is Santana home?" she asked softly. "She's sleeping. Come in" Quinn said sternly, clearly mad at Brittany. Rachel and Brittany quickly hugged before they got right down to it. "What is going on with you?" asked Rachel. "I've been an idiot, that's what's going on with me. I just need to talk to Santana" she replied.

Quinn sighed as she pointed to Santana's bedroom door, gesturing Brittany to go in. Brittany knocked the door. "Come in Quinn" Santana shouted. "It's Brittany"

Santana got up and opened the door, her jaw nearly hitting the floor. Half of her was so happy to see Brittany but the other half was still angry and hurt. "Why are you here? We aren't together anymore, remember?" snapped Santana, trying to not let her sadness take over. She wanted an explanation, and she wanted it now.

Quinn and Rachel were sat just a few feet away in the living room, pretending to talk to each other to avoid the awkwardness in the room.

"Yeah, I'm aware. I came here because you deserve an explanation. You deserve answers" said Brittany. "I'm a fucking idiot, Santana. I got so caught up in trying to avoid getting hurt, that I didn't realise I was hurting you. That was never my intention. I wasn't trying to make you jealous, or feel unwanted or unloved, I just convinced myself this wouldn't work out. I got scared. You didn't deserve that, or the lack of effort I gave you, at all. You're special, Santana. I've not met anyone like you ever. I have a rough past, so it makes me believe I don't deserve someone as amazing as you" said Brittany as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I get that, I just wish you would have told me this a week ago" said Santana. "I know, and so do I. I was just scared. I want to be with you, Santana. I've seen the world and I know now more than ever that I belong with you. I'm sorry for everything I've done, I want to start making it up to you if you'll let me" said Brittany.

"I want to be with you too, more than anything. Just please talk to me in future instead of running away from your problems, I want to help you" said Santana. "Now can I please have that hug and kiss that I've waited for for like 3 weeks?" she asked. Brittany smiled as she pulled her in for a hug and spun her around, planting their lips together.

Quinn and Rachel clapped as they watched them reunite.

Later that day, they all went to bed.

Santana and Brittany laid together, facing each other. "Can I ask you about your past, Britt? Only if you want to of course" asked Santana. "Yeah, I don't know where to start really but I got involved with the wrong crowd in high school, apart for Rachel obviously. I got involved with drugs and heavy drinking and sleeping around. I was easily influenced by those around me. I was cheated on, emotionally abused and manipulated, used...just a lot of shit happened. It's why I struggle to talk about things, hence all of our issues the last week or two. Rachel really saved me, you know" admitted Brittany, taking a deep breath. Santana's facial expression turned from curiosity to sadness at what she had just heard. "Thank you for telling me" she said as she kissed Brittany on her head and cuddled into her, both eventually falling asleep.
