Hidden away- Avengers

Chapter 13

As Steve leapt into action the other's began defending themselves, at the same time Katie stood behind Peter causing him to web down Tony's suit.

"Kid what the fuck!" He yelled blasted at the webs.

"I'm sorry Mr Stark it's like my body is detached from my brain! I can't control what's happening!" He yelled back continuing to web people down.

"Stark get everyone out of here! This spell thingy should wear off soon enough." Cap answered throwing his shield towards Clint, which in his case he dodged quickly letting the vibranium disk sink into the wooden door phrame.

"I am not leaving anyone!" He yelled back. "There has to be another way!"

"The necklace..." Wanda trailed off appearing behind Tony. "Has she always had that?"

"No..." Tong replied glancing at the glowing orb of ocean blue that was hanging from a rusted chain, which hung on her neck.
"Thor,"

"That is an ancient talisman used by Asgardians to control their slaves. If we remove the pendant then the spell should wear off on americas captain and man of spiders. You need to-" Thor was cut of as Peter webbed both of his hands to the wall and covered his mouth.

Tony looked towards Wanda who seemed to notice his reaction, she nodded in agreement and started running in an opposite direction to Tony.

"Hey kid, bet ya didn't see this coming!" He yelled firing blasters at the ground around her.

Katie raised her hand the wisps flying around her fingers. Rapidly, Wanda was behind Katie using her own magic to remove the pendant that hung around her neck. As she did that Loki appeared behind her, his golden sceptre sparkling in the sun as the blue orb glowed with magic pulsating through it. Raising it he launched it down towards Wanda's back, in that exact moment Wanda unclipped the chain causing both Steve and Peter to fall to the floor unconscious, Katies eyes returned back to her natural emerald green. She spun on her heal facing towards Wanda fiercely pushing her out of the way as she rushed forward to take her place. The head of the sceptre lodged in her abdomen as blood slowly tricked down the staff.

The present
Collapsing to the ground taking her final breath. Her pulse died down, her heart began to get ready for sleep. They were frozen, all of them. Two trained shield agents, a god, two science experiments, two soldiers, a teenager and a billionaire. All stood before the girl, the worlds most trusted heroes, couldn't save this one girl. Tony now eyes glossy will dread collapsed on his knees pulling her head up to him. Tears threatened to spill and he didn't stop them. Pain flooded through each of the avengers. Natasha furiously spun on her heel wiping tears vigorously before she felt a warm comforting hand on her shoulder. Looking up she was met by a bone-crushing hug from the super-soldier dressed in blue. Each of the warriors took comfort in their own ways some speechless, some with silent tears and all were taking in every last detail of Katie.

And she took her final breath the word around them began to change, the bloody smears from battle had now vanished, the bloody corpses of the customers ,that were innocent in this fight, disappeared as-well.

"She, she died for nothing?" Tonys voice cracked when he spoke, the first one to speak after everything.

"She saved me.." Wanda trailed off sitting next to Tony placing a hand on his shoulder letting a single tear stream down her face.

"She didn't deserve this," Steve sorrowfully spoke glancing at the other avengers who nodded in agreement.

"Wait- where did Loki go?" Natasha questioned through tears.

"That son of a b*tch better get back here tight know so i can kick his ass!" Tony seethed standing up, Wanda's hand falling off his shoulder.

"I will find him and imprison him in a secure Asgardian prison!" Thor bellowed his promise, he then proceeded to jump through the only un-smashed window off to chase Loki.

"Oh my God Tony!" Bruce whispered as he looked around seeing the expressions of the avengers and the corpse of the girl he once knew.
"S-shields here.."

"Mr Stark, I must say i'm sorry for you loss." Nick fury spoke confidently towards Tony. Even he couldn't mask his sorrow, but he was doin a damn good job of hiding it.
"We, we have shield agents on their way to collect her body, the funeral will be in 2 days. Again, I am sorry."
All he got in return was a simple nod before shield agents rushed in sweeping the area.

2 days later:

The funeral was small, only the avengers, Pepper, Clints family, fury and a couple of other shield agents attended, she was gone and it was for real this time.

"Tony? Time for your speech," Pepper nudged him.

"Katie, Katie wasn't always the greatest daughter, or the bestist person on that note. She would make people laugh, or even cry at times. But she was my daughter and she will always be my daughter. She didn't deserve this, nor did anyone else, she was the smartest most incredible girl of her age. But everyone has a dark side, everyone has faults, but hers- they, they were advanced to say the least. I miss her, as does everyone else. But she, she is in a better place now, she doesn't deserve the life she had here, honestly I'm glad she died," multiple gasps were heard through the church. "Let me finish. I'm glad because now she doesn't have to deal with the pain and suffering of this power, the power she didn't want to have. Bug it was burdened upon her, and I will get revenge on the people who did this to her, no matter what it takes!"
With that he walked off the alter.

Meanwhile, in a classified shield facility:

"She awake?"

"Just about"

There laid Katie, breathing. Suddenly, her eyes shot open revealing a deep red colour.

"Welcome back to the world of the living Katie," the man in the shadows asked.
"Your in a classified Shield facility, my name is Philip Coulson." He revealed himself waling out of the shadows to show his face.
"Sorry it was a dark corner I couldn't resit."
