The next morning :
Brad : Jen.
Brad lets his fingers trace her skin from her collarbones to her belly button, while trying to wake her up.
Brad : Babe.
Jen : Hm?
Brad : You've gotta wake up.
He buries his head in her neck, kissing her shoulder before she ultimately opens her eyes.
Jen : What time is it?
Brad : Quarter past 8.
Jen : Oh.
Jen sits up, covering her bare chest with the covers before glancing over at him.
Jen : Good morning.
Brad : Mhm.
He moves himself closer to her, wrapping his arms around her waist while letting his head rest on her stomach.
Jen : I'm not used to waking up here... in your house.
Brad : I know.
Jen scans the room, smiling as she sees the rose petals still laying on the floor.
Brad : You smell like a garden.
Jen : Well, I should thank you for that.
He laughs as she intertwines her fingers with his.
Jen : In all seriousness though, thank you... for last night.
Brad : No, thank YOU for last night.
Brad looks up at her, smirking.
Jen : I'm talking about this, idiot.
Brad : Oh.
Pointing to the surprise she ruined last night, she laughs.
Jen : It was really sweet of you.
Brad : Well, I figured I might as well take advantage of the time we've got now and do something special for you.
Jen : What do you mean?
Brad : You know... before the baby gets here.
Jen : Oh.
Brad : When all our days will revolve around changing diapers, taking naps whenever we can and I don't know... cleaning up puke.
Jen : You're right.
Brad : Kids usually leave less time for things like this... romantic things.
Jen nods, sighing.
Brad : Mommy and daddy time.
Jen : Please don't ever call it that again.
Brad : What?
Jen rolls her eyes as he furrows his brow.
Brad : You better get used to those two terms.
Jen : What? Mommy and daddy?
Brad : Yeah.
Realizing he's right and that in only a few months she'll actually be a mom, Jen scuffs.
Brad : As soon as the baby gets here, our names will be replaced... no more Jen.
Jen : Mhm.
Brad : From then on it's either mom or mommy.
Jen : If you think I'll be walking around calling you daddy, you're wrong.
