At Jen's house, a few days later :

Nina : I'll come over at 3.

Brad : Good.

Nina : Now, why is Jen not attending the Oscars?

Brad : Covid restrictions.

Nina : Did they not allow her to go?

Brad : No, they said I could bring a plus one... she was the one who said she didn't want to go because of Covid.

Nina : Oh...

Brad : I know she's just using it as an excuse though... she hates these kinds of things.

Nina : You're right, it's such a shame.

Brad laughs, looking out the window at Jen's who's sunbathing by the pool.

Nina : I wonder why I agreed to be her stylist when I barely get to style her for anything.

Brad : Right?

Nina : Anyways, your suit will be delivered to your house tomorrow.

Brad : You know what, just send it to Jen's house.

Nina : Oh, sure... I never get used to you guys suddenly acting like a married couple again.

Brad : Who said we were acting?

He smirks, looking down on the ring on his finger.

Nina : Well, you're not thankfully not married yet... and when you will be that means I'll have to style the both of you.

Brad : Oh, you'll handle that just fine.

Nina : I'll probably save myself the trouble and just pull out Jen's old dress and your old suit.

Half an hour later :

Brad : Jen.

With a book in her hand, shielding her face from the sun, she turns her head.

Jen : What's up, babe?

Brad : Do you ever get tired of this?

Jen : Of what?

Brad : I don't know, laying in the same position for hours in this... way too fucking hot weather.

Jen : No...

He laughs, sitting down by her legs.

Brad : Well, at least you look hot.

Jen : Thank you.

Jen mouths to him, as he stares her body up and down.

Brad : And sweaty.

Jen : Brad...

Brad : What? Sweaty is hot.

Rolling her eyes, Jen shakes her head.

Brad : Anyway, I just got off the phone with Nina.

Jen : Yeah?

Brad : Me and her both are kind of disappointed you decided to not go.

Jen : I know, honey... but it's not like I'm presenting or anything so what's the point.

Jen sighs, squinting her eyes as she looks up.

Brad : They did ask you to present though.

Jen : Yes...

Brad : You turned them down.

Jen : I did.

Brad : Jen.
