A/N Before April returns to work after her and Jackson's trip to Lake Tahoe
"Good morning Mrs April Avery," Jackson smiled kissing her forehead.
She sleeply smiled, "good morning Mr Jackson Avery," she yawned. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed his lips to hers.
"It's your last free day," he whispered, "what are you planning on doing?"
"Well I got to get the mail at my old place, I have to go grocery shopping," she started. "After that it's a long list of trying to find something to do until you get home."
He chuckled, "trust me it's no paradise for me either, people are always looking at me. Judging me. Everyone is asking questions, I try to avoid them." He groaned, "how long are we going to keep this a secret?"
"I don't know, I'll tell you when I go back," she said, "we've been married for almost a week," she smiled being distracted by a happier note.
"It feels so much longer," he admitted.
April smiled to herself, thinking about the moment he stood up, then sat back down. "I love you," she whispered.
"I love everything about you," he whispered back.
She laughed slightly, "you have to get ready for work." She sighed. "You hop in the shower and I'll make you breakfast."
"Why can't you hop in the shower with me then I'll pick up breakfast," he suggested.
April shook her head, "nope, I don't want you to be late again."
"Fine," he gave in. He quickly kissed his wife than stood up. She laughed and walked to the kitchen.
April had coffee and breakfast ready by the time he walked into the kitchen freshly showered and dressed for the day. He snuck behind her scooping eggs onto a plate. He buried his nose into her neck and snaked his arms around her waist. She put the plate on the counter and rested her hands on his.
She turned around in his arms and kissed him gently. She moved one hand to his cheek then gently pulled away. "Okay your going to be late," she kissed him one last time then turned back to the food, she placed some bacon next to the eggs. She gave him the plate and a fork then slid to the left. She grabbed a sky blue mug with lettering on the side reading, 'I Got Married in Lake Tahoe'. Obvious if they had guests? Yes. But lacking cuteness? No. April fell in love with it when she saw it.
She poured his coffee and put one teaspoon of sugar in, then handed it to him. He smiled and took a sip of his coffee.
He sat at the table and a minute later April joined him with her own breakfast. The radio played softly in the background. He glanced at his watch and groaned, "I wish I didn't have to go."
She nodded, "but tomorrow, I will be with you. I don't know how I'll be able to ignore you all day. You're the only person I've seen for the past week."
He finished off his eggs and took one last sip of his coffee. She would finish his coffee after he left. He brought the plate to the sink and walked over to his wife on the way out the door.
She gave him a kiss, "love you," she whispered.
"Love you too," he pecked her forehead and grabbed his jacket on the way out the door. "Have a good day."
"You too," she called as he closed the door than April finished her breakfast.
About an hour later April left to her old apartment. She picked up her mail and found a DVD. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, not sure what was on this DVD. After she picked up her mail she went to the grocery store and picked up a few things.
After that she went home and cleaned the house, every inch. By the time she was done all that it was almost 6. She smiled and started dinner. Jackson would be home soon if he didn't have a meeting, which she didn't hear of, so she was assuming there was none.
She made some pasta and chicken. She was almost dome preparing when Jackson walked in the door. She smiled as she heard the keys clink on the table. Jackson placed his jacket on the table next to it and walked up to his wife.
She smiled as he walked up to her, "dinner is almost ready," she insisted. "How was your day?"
"Long, and boring," he said bluntly. "Long because you weren't there and borningm because you weren't there."
"I guess you don't have to worry about that anymore." She smiled. He gave her a quick kiss then sat down on a bar stool, he picked up her mail amd skimmed through it. He stopped on the DVD and picked it up.
"What's this?" He asked.
"Oh," she remembered then shrugged, "I don't know. It was just in my mailbox."
"Wanna watch it?" She asked, he nodded, "okay can you put it in?"
"Will do," he smiled and walked across the the living room. April quickly placed the chicken and pasta in bowls and put the lids on them. She went to join her husband.
He sat on the couch and she sat right next to him. She pressed play and the video began.
The barn appeared, Meredith, Cristina and Arizona all walked down the aisle. Lastly April, looking stunning.
April looked up at Jackson and he had the wisest grin on his face. "Whats with your smile Avery?"
"Becuase I married that girl," she smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder.
The ceremony countinued, fairly normal. "So let's pray," the preacher said. Just than a phone rang. The bride and groom both looked behind them to get a look at the scene.
In a few minutes the preacher asked for all their blessings, "we wills," filled the room.
Jackson stood up, April bite her lip and smiled. She looked at her husband. "I was so confused." He chuckled at her statement.
He sat back down and the preacher countinued, than Jackson stood up again saying something this time, April squeeled and bounced in Jackson's arms. They both watched the video as his first I love you filled their living room.
"I love you April, I always have. I love everything about you," April's eyes statted to fill with tears, "even the things I don't like, I love." She buried her head in his neck and he wrapped his arms around her waist. "And I want you with me, I love you and I think that you love me too." A pause filled the air, "Do you?"
April smiled, "I do." She pressed a kiss to his cheek. They watched as she gently slid the engagement ring off her finger and handed it to the man standing next to her. She turned around and smiled, she ran towards her best friend and as they ran out of the barn the video cut off.
"I love everything about you," April smiled, "that really did not seem like you."
"It didn't, did it?" He smiled to himself.
"What got into you?" She asked, "not that I'm complaining. I made the best decision of my life."
Jackson smiled and kissed her, "I stood up because of Mark. He told me, If you love someone you tell them, even if your scared that it's not the right thing. Even if your scared that it will cause problems. Even if your scared that it will burn your life to the ground you say it and you say it loud, and you go from there." Jackson said, "I guess it worked pretty well for me."
April turned around and straddled his waist. She couldn't help but smile, "it worked pretty well for me too."
"I'm sorry I was stupid before," Jackson whispered, "I never should have let you go."
"Jackson, you don't have to apologize," she told him resting her hands on his cheeks. "I was stupid, I'm so sorry for everything."
Jackson tightened his grip on her waist and pulled her closer, he felt her lips on his. "Don't be sorry, look at us now."
She smiled and ran her hands down his arms, "yeah look at us now."
