April stood in the kitchen, she stood by the stove when Jackson walked into the apartment. "What are you doing here April?"
"Well, I do live here, I made dinner."
"I bought dinner, and you're supposed to be packing." Jackson said.
April sighed, "I'm not giving up, I'm not just going to leave. I'm sorry I wasn't, I truly, really am, but I thought, if I gave you time, and space-"
"I want space now!" He yelled. April swallowed and looked down at the counter. "All I wanted to do was eat my burrito and go to bed. But you're always here."
"I'm not leaving my home, Jackson-"
"My home, April. My names on the lease. You moved in and now you're moving out." Jackson shouted.
"Jackson-"
He shook his head, "I'm having the locks changed when you're at work tomorrow."
April felt like someone just punched her in the gut, "do you wish I picked Matthew?" April called after him ignoring the pain in her stomach. "Do you? When you stood up at my wedding, would you have preferred that I pick him instead of you. Do you seriously hate me that much?"
With that April grabbed her purse and walked out the door before Jackson could say anything, she definitely did not want to hear the answer to that question.
April got into her car and felt all her emotions hit her, it over came her her body shaking in the front seat of her car. She felt tears steaming down her face.
She sat in the front seat for what felt like forever. She took a deep breath and wiped the tears from underneath her eyes. He just needed space. He said it himself.
__________
April was almost ready to go home. She came here early and yet just got out of an all day surgery. She ran through the halls looking for her husband. She was starting to think he went home already but then she saw him walking towards the nurses station.
April walked up to him, "Jackson, I'll always love you." He started to walk away, then she started to yell. "I love Jackson Avery. I always have, and I always will. I've made the stupid mistake of letting him go once, but I'm not letting that happen again." She yelled across the hall. People looked in their direction, and April just had her eyes on him. "When you stood up at my wedding I made the decision that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you," Jackson walked up to her, "I'm not giving up on you, or our marriage-"
Jackson slightly rolled his eyes and opened the nearest door and pulled her in, "I'm not giving up." Jackson looked at her so intensely, she felt her stomach turn. She didn't know what he was going to do next. But the one thing he did was definitely not anticipated.
He pinned her against the door, one hand on the door beside her slightly grazing her waist, the other resting on her collar bone his fingers barely her face. But she could feel the heat radiating from his skin. Her back pressed against the door, he rested his forehead on hers their noses touching.
"What do you want?" She asked gently, as if not to scare him away.
He took a shaky breath, "I want you." Then he tilted his head and finally captured her lips. She desperately grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him closer to her. He grabbed the low ponytail that held her hair back and pulled out the elastic. He tangled his fingers into her hair and moved his other hand on the small of her back. April gently moaned and melted into him.
By instict her arms wrapped around his neck and his rested on her waist. He slid his hands down to her thighs, she grabbed her wrist and he lifted her up. She supported herself as he held her against the door and moved one hand to the back of his head.
They stood in equal height as she slowly broke the kiss, "I'm so sorry baby." She whispered choking back tears. "I'm never," she kissed right beside his chin, "ever," further up his jaw, "ever," right under his ear thay her breath tickled his ear, "leaving you again." She said kissing his neck.
Jackson tilted his neck, and inhaled sharply, "all I've ever wanted was you."
Luckily the room Jackson choose was an on-call room. April quickly clicked the lock on the door and he carried her to a bed. She then felt her back hit the bed, their legs were tangled, she couldn't tell which ones were her's but it didn't matter. They naturally switched so now his lips were th one grazing her neck and her bottom lip was between her teeth.
__________
They lay tangled in the thin blankets of the on-call room. Her head lays on his shoulder his arms wrapped around her, her hand lays on his chest her thumb gently stroking back and forth. Their eyes rested closed as their articles of clothing spread across the floor.
Jackson gently picked up her left hand, her we're-already-married-but-I-proposed-to-you-without-a ring-so-here's-one-now, ring sat proudly on her finger next to her wedding band. She took off her 'post engagement ring,' before she went to the army, the first time.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw Jackson slowly twirling her ring, "I didn't feel complete without it." She whispered, she grabbed his left hand and intwined their fingers. Their bands looked beautiful side by side, joined together again at last.
April turned around so she was facing him, "I know this doesn't fix everything," she whispered. "He still have a lot to talk about, but Jackson, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much."
Jackson rested his hand on the curve of her back, "I'm so sorry for what I was saying earlier-"
"Jackson you don't have to apologize," April whispered resting a hand on his cheek.
He nodded, "yes, I do. April, we are worth fighting for. You said it yourself, I never should have said otherwise. I hurt you, and I-" he sighed. "I'm so glad you picked me."
"If I had to make that decision a million times, I'd pick you every single time," she whispered.
Just then his pager went off, "no, no." April whispered, "stay with me."
Jackson sat up as did April. They faced each other and he grabbed her hand. "How about you get dressed, go home, and I'll meet you there. Maybe you continue your soup from last night. I'm sorry."
"You don't have to be," April shrugged. "I'm staying by your side Jackson Avery. As long as you'll let me, I'm sticking by you."
Jackson nodded and stood up and got dressed. He was walking towards the door when April called his name, "wait." She got on her knees on the bed the blanket wrapped around her. "What changed, from last night?"
He stepped towards her, "my mom talked to me, she talk about my father. Then I imagined a world in which you didn't choose me over Matthew. I realized I never want a world where you're not mine." He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, "you're my stolen bride."
Okay, I know it's corny, but what ever. I was think about like what if April did choose Mahew so I incoperated that into the story. The first scene is based off the sneak peek, but it was to heartbreaking, I definitely did not include the whole thing.
Hope you liked it.
