"Do you need anything else with those two coffees, sir?"

How about your name and your phone number?

The young woman was standing right behind the counter, tapping at the cash register and waiting for me to respond. Normally, I would've said something along these lines without much thinking, just out of habit, but, oddly enough, I wasn't in the right mood to do so. Something just didn't sit right with me.

"No, I'm good. Thank you."

I grabbed the two hot coffee cups placed in a cardboard carrier after giving the employee my credit card to pay and then excited the already crowded coffee chain to push myself into the brimming streets of this busy-ass town. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry even on a Saturday morning, it was like they were sucked up into a delirious time loop or something.

Strolling aimlessly down the corners with a chilly gust of wind brushing my face, I finally brought myself in front of one of Konoha's tallest skyscrapers, the one and only with my family's crest adorning its sheer black granite surface. I took a sip of my coffee whilst gulping down the dreadful feeling at the pit of my guts of having to face someone I didn't want to by any means, and kinda wished the hot liquid burned my tongue so I wouldn't have to say a single word to them.

Walking inside the 80-story building, I headed straight for the elevators and no one seemed to mind me passing through without any control or an access card either, except the receptionist who just gave me a quick acknowledging nod.

Perks of being the well-known bastard of this family, I guess.

The elevator's doors closed with a faint ding sound, and I used the key for the penthouse, right on the top floor. The smooth jazz music coming from the elevator only made things worse to the already surreal situation of me having to be prepared for an upcoming shit-storm, a war, or a slaughter maybe.

The same light ding sound snapped me away from my thoughts minutes later as the doors opened, and I stepped inside the deluxe apartment surrounded by glass windows which provided a panoramic view of the whole city. A dwelling made this way to give you the impression of living in 7th heaven, and ironically, the devil himself resided there.

"You're late."

Fighting the urge to roll my eyes, I turned my head to glance over my shoulder towards the direction the deep voice had come from.

"Good to see you again, Madara."

He didn't even spare me as much as a glance while he was typing something down on his MacBook. A few files and documents sprawled across his usually neat desk, a sign that he'd already gotten down to business.
