never enough.

it's not all men
but it's 99.9% of women.
it's not all men
but it's billions of women.
it's not all men
but it's my struggle and you laugh,
at the way i suffer.
you laugh at the person i am.
at my brokenness,
my sacredness,
you made us this way.
yet you're still confused
about our unkindness.

a glass
new, shiny,
untouched.
it's all you look for;
you don't understand when
you hold that.
your hold of something,
that breaks so easily.
yet when you're done
and your flower drops dead,
you let it go.
it breaks.
you say no, we're not good
enough now, and oh boy
don't you tell us so.

the thing you don't
understand though.
you cannot fix broken glass.
we do not magically return
to new.
you cannot give us your words,
and pretend it's glue, yet we shine.
so bright.
oh yes we do.
yet we're broken.
we're enough.

but never enough for you.
