did you know?
you didn't, didn't you?
That precious daughter of yours,
as you call her. Little do you know
she's hurting. Not just mentally but
physically hurting herself.

She always says she's cold
but she's really just hiding.
The nonstop wonders of how it
would feel if she just gave up.
The slices she makes. The red frosting
being displayed down her arms.

Describing that to a child
they would ask, "why are you putting
icing on your arms?" The answer would
be because it feels good. It takes all of my
pain away, yet the child is confused.

Little do they know that isn't red frosting
and the slices she makes isn't of a cake,
but of her own skin and flesh. She feel the thoughts around in her head telling her
she's not good enough. She wants to listen
but she doesn't want to give up. You may wonder why. But there's only one reason.

She's fighting a losing game in her head.
