Chapter 18: Too Many Surprises for One Day

Y/n's POV

Finally, the day had come. Yeah, Natsu and the others were missing for the whole time but I knew for sure Natsu wouldn't miss this for the whole world. I walked joyfully to the guild.

Before Gramps announced the participants for the GMG, he called some of us to his office in secret. I walked in to find Laxus, Juvia, Mira, Cana and Mystogan already present there. I turned to Gramps and he began explaining the reason behind the secret meeting.

"So, I called all of you for a reason as you know. The Grand Magic Games are approaching and I promised to announce the participants today but the team I decided to participate in will not be the only one to go. From the rules of this game, I realized there is no rule stating that there cannot be more than one team from a guild if they can the preliminary round, they are up for the games, get it? So, the five of you, along with Cana, who will be the substitute, are FairyTail Team B. I want you guys to keep it a secret from the others. I don't care how but we need to win these games so if you manage to win you can order around the other team, FairyTail's Team A, for a day. But the same condition goes for them, if they win, they can order you around. Are you up for it?" He questioned, arching one eyebrow.

I didn't think it was much of a question as each and everyone in the room, except Master, was already considering it.

"But, Master, who will be the participants for FairyTail Team A?" Mira finally asked the question, all of us were itching to ask.

"Well, I don't think it is a question, we all know, who I'm gonna choose, right?" he said, sighing.

Natsu, Erza, Gray, Lucy, Wendy, Elfman. They were the only ones left that Master would trust to go for the win, except for us. Gildarts was gone for his mission.

"Deal!" we all said at once. I could only imagine what the others had planned for the other team. I, on the other hand, just wanted a servant for a day, whether it be Gray or Erza or Lucy or Natsu (though he would surely mess everything than work). Though, I had no plan of using Wendy cause she was such a sweet and petite girl. I adored her a lot as I got to know her.

We exited the Master's room and took our seats as I chatted with Mira about how exciting it would be. We enquired a bit with Romeo about the GMG and their present winners where the guild Sabertooth was mentioned. Interesting, I had heard of them a lot these past few days. In the Council, plus gossips, you know.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Mystogan leaving, being the curious girl I am, I followed him. After we reached a dark alley, I finally decided to say something. I felt something off about this guy.

"Stop! I know you already realized I was following you. I don't wanna take a lot of time just tell me who you are. I know you're not Mystogan, I heard about what happened to Mystogan. So, spill, now," I used my best demanding one I could muster.

He turned around. His eyes seemed so familiar yet so new.

He opened his mask as my eyes widened in surprise. Jellal, I knew him. I had heard of him from Erza. Erza was my best friend so she told me about her haunting past. I had heard of him from the Council and saw pictures of him, but that was not the only way I knew him.

Flashback~

It was my first mission, alone, and who I could meet except the infamous Jellal Fernandez. At the time, I didn't know it was him. I was in the woods, hunting for a monster. I would invite Gray and others but all of them had taken an individual mission and I thought that it would help me for my personal growth than relying on others. How brave of me, I know!
