Chapter 23: Naval Battle

Y/n's POV

Their fight was adorable. Both of them were an equal match for each other. Even though Sherria seemed a little stronger, Wendy stood her ground. I was so proud of her.

Since the time had run out. Both of them were declared winners, and it was a draw. Sherria offered the two being friends, which Wendy accepted happily.

I realized Jellal wasn't there. Lahar and Doranbolt from the Magic Council were there, which means he should be safe. I decided to look for him.

A few minutes later~

The worst outcome had taken place. Jellal was surrounded by Lahar and Doranbolt. I watched as the impatient Doranbolt knocked out Jellal's mask.

I ran over to his defence.

"What's happening here? Why are you surrounding my teammate? Any problem here, officers?" I demanded.

"Is there even anything more to say? Haven't you seen his face? I'm sure the problem here is clear. We will be taking him for now," he said, walking over to Jellal. I stood in front of him.

"I don't get it. He is Mystogan from FairyTail. He might look like Jellal Fernandez since he is his Edolas counterpart, but I assure you, this man, right here is not Jellal Fernandez. Plus, you cannot arrest him like this without having any proof he is who you say he is. I know I am new to the Council, but I suggest you take my word for it," I said politely but in a voice said 'don't mess with me'.

Doranbolt backed up as Lahar let us go. After we were far from them, Jellal said, "Aren't you scared for lying to the Council?"

"Not my first time," I winked.

He seemed confused.

"Just remember to stay safe and hide your identity. You can't help people if you don't help yourself, Jellal. Don't get too cocky," I said and took my leave.

Many people had witnessed the incident with Jellal. I only hoped that things would be better.

Next day~

The event was Naval Battle. I wanted to participate so I could show off more of my skills, but I had just participated yesterday, so Juvia went. I was pissed off. Lucy had participated from the other team. To be honest Lucy and I never bonded. I found her weird. I mean, it was like she hated me. She excused herself whenever near and avoided. I would catch her glaring at me time and again, mostly when I was Natsu. Like what was her deal? I was tired of it, so I stopped trying to know her. I guess it was better to leave things with her. Not everyone had to like me, I get it.

As the battle went, it was first interesting, but in the end, it got brutal. Everyone was outside of the sphere, one way or other. The only people remaining were Minerva and Lucy. Minerva looked at me and smirked. Shit, she was trying to send me a message. She tortured Lucy and took her keys. Lucy was barely even conscious.

She then caught Lucy by her neck and held her outside the sphere before dropping her. I rushed down to catch her. I glared at Minerva was smirking with pride.

"You bitch," I cursed. She laughed.

Natsu and Gray jumped down, too, and as a response members from Sabertooth also came down. Orga, Sting and Rufus stood in front of Minerva as if protecting her. I scoffed as Natsu and Gray stood beside me. Wendy and Sherria came to the arena as they healed the wounded Lucy.

"You guys are pathetic," I said.

"Oh, are we? It isn't our that that blonde girl was weak," Minerva answered.

"You could've gone easy her. You didn't have to torture her like that. You could've easily dropped her out the sphere," Natsu growled.

"Where is the fun in that?" Minerva said.

"So, you want fun, huh? I assure you you'll get all the fun you need when you lose. Now, you hurt the second person of our family. You just invited the danger to your doorstep. Now have your fun handling it," I said, ending with a final glare before walking away. I didn't even bother sparing a glance at Sting, who was staring at me the whole time.

The crowd seemed pretty engaged and excited about our rivalry with Sabertooth as the announcer said it was something to look forward to. It might've not been before, but I assure you now it is.

As we all were sitting, waiting for Lucy to get healed, Master came in.

"I have some news. The games committee can't pair up the fighters in the battle portions since there is an odd number of guilds, so they want us to merge in one. We decided that the points from Team A will be used. So we are in a tie for third place with Mermaid Heel and Lamia Scale,"

"But, Gramps, we only have the tag battle, now and then the final day will approach. We can't possibly win in that time," Gray noted.

"You're right, but there will be daybreak before the last day. So, to win, you must choose the members carefully since the last day all the team members will participate," Porlyusica informed.

"That is no problem. I have already decided on who will participate," Master said with a serious tone.

The announcer declared the tag battles are about to start. He also stated that FairyTail's Group A and B were merged, and introduce the new FairyTail team.

It was not a surprise that I was in. So, the other participants were Gray. Natsu, Erza and Laxus. The crowd, unlike the first time, actually cheered for us. I waved with a smile, making the crowd go wild. I was really popular, wasn't I?

And finally, the battles begin. I wanted to participate as I hadn't gotten a chance.

The announcer set forth the name of the teams that would battle against each other. To my surprise, we were battling Sabertooth. Guess this rivalry was actually gonna happen. I smirked.

I look in front to see Sting staring at me. His face glowed when he saw me looking back at him. But I turned away in an instant with a scowl on my face which probably made him sad. Sorry, Sting Eucliffe, I don't what you're playing at, one moment you're the nicest person in the room, and the other you're the villain.

Wish I knew better than to trust you.

"We're finally gonna show those Sabertooth bastards what they deserve," Natsu growled.

"Chill there, tiger, they are pretty strong, but yeah, we're gonna give it our all,"

"For Lucy," Natsu said.

"For Lucy," I said with a smile.

The battles went on with the first battle between Blue Pegasus and Quatro Puppy which Quatro Puppy won. The second battle was between Lamia Scale and Mermaid Heel which ended in a draw.

The last battle was between us and Sabertooth. I was excited.

"Finally, the battle we've all been waiting for Team FairyTail vs Team Sabertooth after FairyTail's Blood Sorceress Y/n L/n openly challenged Team Sabertooth. So, to fulfil their requests and the crowd's appeal, the last battle will be between FairyTail's Y/n L/n, Natsu Dragneel and the Twin Dragon Slayer's of Sabertooth; Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney!" the anchor proclaimed.

To be honest, I didn't expect that, but again it was the wish of the audience, so it wasn't much of a surprise. Whatever, I'm ready to kick their butts. I smiled. I felt someone's eyes on me, and sure enough, it was Sting Eucliffe with wide eyes.

We gotta do what we gotta do.
