“Hi Jarrod.  Hi guys.”  Arielle said as she looked between all of the men amongst their squabble. “Glad I caught ya’ll here.” All of the group looked shocked and confused as they stared at this petite girl.  A girl who was a mystery to all of them, but also an addiction.

“Not a very good time, Arielle!” Dean said as his eyes darted back and forth between the main shifter and Arielle.  The shifters kept their positions, two of them holding onto Dean and the other holding a knife in front of him.

“It’s okay, we’re all friends here.” Arielle said as she slowly walked toward Sam, her eyes fixated on the shifters and Dean. She stood beside Sam, still bound to the chair, as she slowly put her one arm around him and the other behind. “I’m thinking this might be a kinky kind of party? The only thing I can wonder is, why wasn’t I invited?”
Jarrod, with his curly blonde hair, placed the knife he was holding into the holster that hung on his hip. He slowly walked over to Arielle, lust in his eyes as he watched her rub Sam’s chest. She stood up as he walked to where she moved, now beside Sam. Arielle slowly moved forward toward Jarrod and sweetly smiled at him as she placed her hand on the side of his face.

“Arielle, my love, this doesn’t concern you.” Jarrod said as he stood close to Arielle,  placing his hand on her hips.  Arielle looked up to Jarrod and lightly rubbed his face with her hand.

“Oh, but it does, ‘my love’.” Arielle said, quoting Jarrod as a loud bang rang out.  “I don’t socialize with monsters.”

Jarrod’s expression went blank as he fell to the floor, a silver bullet lodged in his skull. Sam stood up from his chair, his bounding undone and a gun smoking in his hand.  The other two shifters, too shocked to move, got knocked down by Dean as he wrestled himself out of their grip and towards Sam and Arielle.  Sam shot the last two down as they scrambled to their feet. Once the dust settled, Sam and Dean looked at Arielle/Stevie.

“Thank you.”  Sam said looking at the girl he knew as Stevie.

“No problem.”  Arielle/Stevie replied. “We should get that little girl out of here and go somewhere to talk. And yes, I saw her get into your car while I was scoping out the place.”

Dean and Sam looked at each other with disbelief that Arielle/Stevie was so good. They headed out to the car to the frightened little girl in the backseat and agreed to meet back at their motel room to hash out what happened between them after they drove the little girl home.

                             ***************

After about an hour, Dean and Sam paced in their room, hoping they weren’t swindled by Arielle/Stevie again.  They hoped that she didn’t just leave like she did to both of them after a night of such euphoria. Sam was angry and got angrier with every passing moment.

“We shouldn’t have just let her go alone.  She owes us an explanation!” Sam huffed as he stomped around the room.  Back and forth hastily as he growled under his breath.

“I know Sammy, but she seemed like she wanted to clear the air.”  Dean said trying to calm Sam down from going into a frenzy. “She’ll be here.”

“If she wants to clear the air so badly, why isn’t she here yet?” Sam shot back.

“Listen Sam, we have to trust her, believe it or not. If she didn’t show up when she did or gave you the knife to be able to cut your ropes......” Dean pointed out, trying to get Sam to calm down.

“So, we can trust her on the job.” Sam spouted “But what about trusting her personally?  I can’t do this! I’m going for a drive.”

As Sam opened the door to the room, a dainty figure stood in the light of the up coming dawn. Arielle/Stevie looked at Sam and the anger started to wipe from his face as he looked at her.  She lifted a bag that had grease stains in one hand and a 12 pack of beer in the other.

“Sorry I’m late, I had to stop for the good stuff.” Arielle offered, holding the food bag and beer out to Sam.  Dean ran up and grabbed the bag and beer from her hands, then turned and headed back into the kitchenette leaving Arielle and Sam standing by the door.  Sam welcomed her in then sat with Dean. Arielle shrugged, walked in and closed the door behind her while she took off her leather jacket, exposing a white lacy top and matching leather pants. Arielle knew how to dress for her body and how to accentuate every curve she had. She walked over to the kitchen table and sat adjacent from Dean who was stuffing his face with a greasy bacon burger and gulping down a beer. Sam joined Dean by grabbing a beer, twisting it open and taking a huge gulp from it.

“How did you know where we were?” Sam questioned, looking at Arielle for answers. “How did you know your band were shifters?”

“I came to this town looking for shifters because Rufus got a tip.” Arielle started to explain. “He didn’t know where this tip came from, but he thought it would be safer for someone else to go in his place in case it was a set up.  Me being new to the game, he thought I would be the best person to go. So I came here, after a little makeover.” Arielle motioned to her hair. “I came here, made my name in this town quickly by singing solo and got close to the people I suspected were the shifters.  I got my final answer when I saw the band on the security cameras at the bar.”

Sam shot Dean a look, then Dean shrugged as if to ask ‘what!?’. “Their eyes.” Sam said as he looked back at Arielle, she nodded in agreement.

“They had all of the signs.  I followed them around for weeks, seeing where they went and who they came in contact with.  They mostly went back to that warehouse to hide their skins and their money. Then came, Rod Conway.”  Arielle pointed to Dean who was licking his fingers clean.  Dean looked up as if being put under a spotlight.

“What?”  Dean asked, grease covering his mouth. “Oh. Heh.”  He smirked after realizing his place in this story.

“I couldn’t be all work and no play.” Arielle said as she checked out Dean. “I, however, didn’t know that he was your brother.  If I did, I never would have done what we...uh, did.”

“If that’s the case, how did you figure it out?” Sam asked, looking at Arielle.
“Well, when I was leaving that next morning, I saw you in asleep in the car.  Then it kicked in.” Arielle looked remorseful while she explained herself. “I took off as fast as I could because I couldn’t face you. Not at that time. I’m really sorry, to both of you! I just hope I didn’t come between you two.”

Dean looked at both Arielle and Sam. “Nah, it will take a lot more then this to come between us.” Dean said looking at Sam.
“We’re good.”  Sam said as he nodded in agreement. “It was all a very awkward misunderstanding.”

“Whew, I’m glad.” Arielle said as she stood up and headed to grab her jacket.

“Where are you going?” Dean asked, watching Arielle.

“I’m heading to my next job.” Arielle said was she turned to face the brothers. Sam and Dean looked at each other before Dean said. “Wait, what’s your real name?”

“It’s Stevie Arielle Kasher.” She said as she opened the door. “I’ll see you around.”
Then she walked out into the night.

            ***************************

A couple of months later, the boys headed back to Sioux Falls to see Jody Mills, a friend of Bobby’s and theirs.  They had done a couple of jobs with Jody and got so close to her that they considered her family. After Bobby passed, the boys felt lost and relied on Jody to keep them grounded.  They hadn’t seen or heard from Stevie either and they hoped she was okay.

Pulling up to Jody’s house, the boys parked the car and headed in to be greeted by Jody and her daughter.  “Hey strangers!” Jody said as the boys walked through the door. “I wasn’t expecting you for a while.”

“Well, we started out earlier than expected.” Dean said walking up to Jody and giving her a hug. He nodded to Alex, Jody’s daughter, who was setting the table for supper.

“I’m glad you could make it out.” Jody said, giving Sam a hug.

“We’re glad we could make it too!” Sam agreed. “It’ll be nice to have a home cooked meal again.”

“Yeah, and some beers!” Dean said as Jody pointed to the kitchen.  Dean happily made his way to the kitchen to grab a beer.

“How's he doing?” Jody asked, motioning to Dean as he left the room.

“He’s taking Bobby’s death hard, but he’s holding on.” Sam replied as he took a seat on the couch beside Jody. Sam and Jody sat in the living room and chatted a bit until Dean came back with 3 beers, and handed one to Jody and one to Sam.

“Have you heard anything about Stevie?” Dean asked while taking a seat across from Jody and Sam and opening his drink.

“Not recently. But I did hear that she was doing well amongst all of what happened.” Jody replied, taking a sip from her freshly opened drink. “She came out here a while back to grab some things from Bobby’s place.  Then after that, I haven’t seen her.”
“How was she when you saw her?” Sam asked concerned.

“You could tell she was broken, but she never cried. At least not in front of us.” Jody responded, putting her beer on the coffee table in front of her. “I heard you guys found yourself a permanent place to lay your heads?”

“Yeah, it’s pretty sweet!” Dean chimed in. “The Men of Letters bunker has everything we need. Including privacy and some protection against, pretty much everything. We were told it’s warded.”

“That’s great! I’ll have to bring you a house warming gift sometime when I’m out that way.” Jody said. The bunker was five hours from where Jody lived, in Lebanon Kansas but it was a good place for the boys and they finally had their own home.  They needed some stability in their lives since a lot had happened to them and that made Jody worried for the boys.  Seeing them today washed those worries away from her mind,  at least for tonight.

“I hear you have a new friend?” Jody asked, resting her head against the back of the couch. “And he’s an angel?”

Sam looked at Dean. “Yeah, his name is Castiel. How did you hear of that?” Sam asked, confused.

“I have my sources.” Jody said as she winked at Sam. “Are the stories true about angels? Does he have wings, a halo and mystical powers?”

“No wings, no halo. He does have powers though.  He can cure people with the touch of his hand.” Dean explained, looking at Jody shocked.

“Ah. I’ll have to meet this Castiel sometime when I bring you your house warming gift.” Jody said.  She looked up as her daughter, Alex, came around the corner.

“Everything’s ready.” Alex explained, as she went back into the kitchen.

“I’ll be right back.” Jody said as she got up to help Alex. The guys sat in silence for a bit, both thinking about what had happened in the past few months. At least they had a home, finally but losing Bobby was like losing their father all over again.  It stung deeply, but this is the life they lead. This is the life of a hunter.

“Come and get it!” Jody said as the boys got up and headed into the dining room.  The table was set perfectly, just like every home cooked meal the guys had seen on tv. They missed this, family dinners and light conversations.

“It looks amazing Jody….and Alex.” Sam said before he sat at the large oak dining room table.  Dean sat beside him and readied himself by tucking part of a napkin into the collar of his shirt. He was ready for a full belly. In front of them sat a large plate of cut up roast, a bowl of mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a steaming boat full of gravy. Dean knew he was going to go into a food coma by just looking at the spread before him.

“Don’t eat too much!” Jody said whilst serving out the spread in front of them. “I have a fresh peach cobbler ready to go for dessert.”

“Oh God!” Dean exclaimed, thinking about the warm, peach cobbler. “We should come here more often!”

“If you did,” Jody started,“I’d have a very large grocery bill!” Everyone laughed as Dean nodded in agreement with Jody. The guys ate as much as their stomachs would let them, and then ate some more when the cobbler came out. After supper the guys crashed in the living room and fell fast asleep for the night.
