Dean finished changing after his shower and went to talk to Sam. It ate at him, the whole ‘catching Stevie and himself in bed together in a compromising position’, and he had to try to make it right with Sam. Dean headed over to Sam’s bedroom and knocked, waiting for his brother to open the door. Silence. There was no response from behind the door so Dean knocked again then opened the door. Sam's room was empty and some of his things were gone.

Coming out of Sam’s room he smelled fresh brewed coffee and the waft of cooked bacon filling the air. Following his nose, Dean walked into the kitchen to see Stevie sitting, curled up on one of the kitchen chairs with a cup of coffee in her hand and an empty plate in front if her. She’d been crying.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Dean said as he walked over to her and bent down to meet her gaze.

“Sam took off. Said he was going on that hunt of Donna’s alone.” She said as she wiped a tear from her face. “He was still very upset. I tried to talk to him but he just shut me out. I didn’t want to hurt him Dean! I shouldn’t have come here and I should never have came between you two!”

Stevie put down her coffee and began to sob once Dean wrapped his strong arms around her in a hug. “Don’t say that! I know we hurt Sam, and for that I’ll always be paying for. Sam and I both know that you never wanted to come between us! And don’t ever wish you never came. I am incredibly happy, and it’s because of you.” Dean said as he pulled away from Stevie and wiped her face from the tears that kept falling from her blue eyes. “I know Sam, he’ll eventually get over it. How long he’ll be mad though? I’m not sure. All I know is that you are not to blame here, I am.”

Stevie grabbed Dean’s face and pulled him in for a kiss. “You’re amazing, you know. I don’t deserve you.” She said as she looked at Dean, a man who she never thought would be someone she can’t be without. “What are you going to do about Sam? Do we go after him and help?”

“Yeah and no.” Dean said as he stood up “It should be just me trying to fix this and if this thing is as tough as Donna thinks it is, I need to be there.”

“I can help.” Stevie said quietly while rubbing the last of the tears from her eyes.

“I know you can but I can’t fix things with Sam and hunt this thing if I’m worried about you too.” Just as Dean finished his sentence, Stevie’s phone went off.

“Hello?” Stevie said as she put her phone to her ear “Tony? What’s going on!? Ho.. hold on!” Stevie stood up quickly and rushed past Dean while he watched as she rounded the corner into the hallway. Who was Tony? Was he in some kind of trouble? Should Dean be worried? Dean pushed the thought of Stevie having someone on the side, out of his mind. If she had someone else, why was she staying here? Why was she fighting to keep them in her life? And why would she care if she hurt either of them? Shaking Dean out of his thoughts Stevie rounded the corner back into the kitchen.

“Hey, something came up and I have to meet up with some friends.” Stevie said catching Dean mid-thought.

“Is everything okay?” Dean asked, moving towards Stevie.

“There’s a witch that took one of my friends. She’s also a hunter but she retired because she recently got married and is pregnant. I have to find her before anything happens to her.” Stevie said hurriedly as she started down the hall to her room.
Dean followed behind her “Do you need me to come?”

“No, you can’t!” Stevie said walking up to Dean “You need to help Sam. I’ll be okay. It’s not the first bitch I’ve hunted.”

“At least let me send Cas. He’s good help and I’d feel better if you had someone to help.” Dean said as he put his arms around Stevie and leaned in for a kiss. Stevie kissed him then looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Are you trying to coddle me?” Stevie asked quizzically. “Because you know I am okay on my own.”

“I’m not trying to coddle you, I’m trying to protect you.” Dean said as he tried to snuggle up to Stevie some more. Stevie pushed away just enough so Dean’s arms where still around her. “It’s for my piece of mind! And it’s always better not to hunt alone."

“Fine.” Stevie said as a smile spread across her face. “If it’ll keep you sane! But you gotta get angel boy here ASAP. I gotta get moving!”

“Calling him up right now!” Dean said as he pulled his phone from his pocket. Dean dialed as Stevie ran from her room to pack a few items from the shared bathroom to take with her. As she returned to her room she kept packing and heard Dean hang up with Castiel.

“Cas is on his way. He should be here shortly.” Dean said trying to get Stevie’s attention. Stevie was too focused on packing and grabbing her weapons to realize Dean was talking to her.

“Can we have a quickie right now!?” Dean said trying to get Stevie to look up at him.

“Huh?” Stevie said once she realized what Dean said “No, we cant have a quickie! I have to…”

“I know! I know!” Dean said as he laughed “I’m just trying to get your attention. Look, Cas is going to be here right away but I want you to know, if you need me, call me.”

“As much as I’d love to ravage you, for being you, I’m in a rush! And I know I can call you if I need to. I shouldn’t, I’ll have help and with Cas coming, we will be unstoppable.” Stevie said as she pecked a kiss on Dean’s cheek then rushed out of her room. “How are you going to survive without me for a couple of days if you’re worrying this much?!?”

“A couple of days!?” Dean groaned.

“Yeah. And you gotta go help Sam and try to fix this mess we made!” Stevie scolded at Dean. “I have to find my friend and kill that bitch and then when I get back, I’ll do my best sucking up to Sam to get him to forgive us.” Dean followed Stevie to the garage as she grabbed some items from her bike. She turned and headed back into the war room when they heard the door of the bunker close.

“Cas must be here.” Dean said, running to greet him Castiel at the bottom of the stairs.
