When Hawk came to pick her up, he was a complete gentleman. He knocked on her door instead of texting her "I'm here." He offered to greet her dad before she informed him he wasn't home. Then he jokingly offered to greet Miguel in his place. He told her she was beautiful and even opened the car door for her.

Everything was going great, Andy couldn't of been happier.

The whole date was like they usually hung out, only with more affection and butterflies. The two went to a restaurant arcade, where they ate then played games. Andy was having the time of her life. For the first time in months, Miguel was long gone from her mind. Everything was just HawkHawkHawk.

At one point or another, Andy tripped over a ball that had fallen from the game. She landed straight in Hawk's arms who quickly caught her. The two started laughing and couldn't stop for a good minute before they noticed their position.

When Andy fell she fell hard and pushed Hawk straight into the wall. Now they were nose to nose in this position, Hawks hands on her waist. Andy was about to pull away and apologize, but Hawk didn't let her.

Instead, he kissed her. Andy was so shocked she didn't respond for a minute, and he took that as a bad sign. He went to pull away, but she yanked him right back in, finally responding. He smiled against her mouth as they kissed.

It was a good minute or two before they pulled away. Both breathing heavily.

"That was new." Andy laughed.

"Yeah it was...be my girlfriend?" He stared into her eyes, shining with hope.

For the first time since the evening started, Andy thought about Miguel. She liked him still, of course she did. But she felt something now, with Hawk. And Hawk actually wanted her. There was no second thought about this decision.

"Yeah...I'll be your girlfriend."

When Andy finally went home, she was ecstatic. Johnny wasn't home, which was fine by her because she was jumping all over the place and squealing. She felt like a kid on christmas.

Quickly changing her clothes into more comfortable ones, she quickly dialed Miguel.

Miguel was sitting on his bed, online shopping for Andy's upcoming birthday when his phone rang. He knew it would be her about her date, and prepared himself for both good and bad.

"Hey! how did it go?" He tried to sound upbeat and happy like a best friend should.

"Amazing! He asked me to be his girlfriend and kissed me!" Andy squealed. "I haven't been this happy since dad brought me a fish home for christmas a few years ago." Miguel laughed at the comparison.

"I'm glad it went good. So you're dating now?"

"Yep! Diaz, I can't even explain how I feel right now."

You too?

"I'm happy for you, An."

"Hey, mind if I spend the night? We haven't hung out one on one in a while..." She trailed off, hoping to ask him if he was okay.

"You always can." Miguel smiled. "Doors unlocked."

"Be there soon."

Carmen and Rosa were pleasantly surprised to see Andy. Both eagerly asked about the date and listened to the details.

"Even if I did hope you and Miguel were going to get married, this boy sounds like he's gonna treat you okay." Rosa smiled. Carmen lightly smacked her mother.

"Me and Miguel...it was dream, a fantasy. He likes Sam, there was no change of it happening." Andy shook her head. "Best friends is just what we're meant to be."

Carmen smiled sadly. If only the girl knew...

"Speaking of Miguel, he's waiting on me." The two gave the younger girl a hug and allowed her to go back to Miguel's room.

"I hope those two end up together." Carmen whispered with a sigh.

"Hey, sorry Carmen and Rosa caught me." Andy laughed as she entered the room and shut the door behind her. Miguel shut his computer and smiled.

"It's okay." He smiled softly at her. She could obviously tell something was wrong.

"You gonna tell me what's wrong now?" Andy sat down next to him on the end, leaning against the wall.

"I don't know-"

"Don't pull that on me. I know you, Diaz."

Miguel let out a sigh, realizing he was caught. He had two options, tell her the truth or lie. The lie option sounded better. Telling her the truth would only hurt her.

"It's stupid..."

"It's not."

"I guess...I'm used to being the one you spend most of your time with. You know, having so many classes in school together, karate, and living next door. I guess I'm worried about that changing now that you're with Hawk..." Miguel trailed off.

"Oh Diaz...you think a boyfriend is going to change that? Hawk has to accept that you're my best friend and yeah, you and I are gonna spend a lot of time together. Nothing is going to change, okay? Sleepovers are still gonna happen, we're still gonna walk to karate together and to school, you're still stuck with me." Andy smiled. "The moment you claimed me as your best friend is the day that you can't get rid of me."

Miguel smiled, looking at his friend. They were friends...just friends. He would have to accept that, as she was happy with Hawk. That did not stop it from hurting, but he was okay with it.

"Love you, An."

"Love you too, Diaz."

I know many of you are probably worried because I just put Andy with Hawk but I promise there's a reason for this you will understand later.
Love you🤍
