After a trip to the police station where they told her they would be keeping Johnny overnight, Andy was forced away with tears brimming her eyes.

"Is there somewhere I can take you for the night?" Miguel asked on their silent way home, worried for the girl.

"Oh uh, no, I guess I'll just stay at my apartment," Andy sighed, holding in her tears of frustration and fear.

"What? No!" Noting her look of curiosity, Miguel sighed. "I mean, you shouldn't be alone. Come on, My mom and YiaYia won't mind if you stay with us for the night." Miguel grabbed her hand and dragged her to his apartment.

"Wait Diaz, I don't want to intrude."

"You're not, trust me." Miguel sent her a smile and continued to bring her towards his apartment.

Walking inside, Andy was hesitant to follow. When Miguel noticed she wasn't following, he sighed and grabbed her hand again to bring her inside. She ignored the churning in her stomach.

"Miguel what took so long..." Mrs Diaz trailed off as she spotted the two teens, one still covered in medicine. "What happened?"

"Some guys attacked me at the mini mart so Mr Lawrence and Andy helped me out. But the cops arrested him and Andy had nowhere else to go for the night, so can she-"

"Of course she can! You go get washed up and I'll feed Andy here, okay?" Miguel nodded and smiled at his friend before walking towards the bathroom.

"Come, you must be starving."

"Nono, that's okay."

"It is not, really it's not any trouble and if you don't sit I'll force you." Andy smiled softly at her motherly tactics and sat down to eat. Carmen spent a minute or so warming up that nights dinner as both woman heard the shower turn on in the other room.

"You know he's very fond of you, he came inside and started talking about you the moment he met you." Andy blushed at her words.

"Really?"

"Yeah, he's like a little puppy when it comes to you. I mentioned having you over for dinner and I've never seen him that excited before," Carmen laughed, teasing her son without him knowing.

"He's an amazing guy, different then the losers around this place," Andy said honestly.

"Just don't hurt him, okay? He's been through enough," Carmen whispered as she set down the plate of food.

"I wouldn't dream of hurting someone as sweet as him," Andy smiled softly. Carmen gave nod of approval and turned around.

"I'm gonna go find you a pair of shorts to wear to bed, okay? and Probably just steal one of Miguel's t-shirts." Andy said a small thank you as Carmen smiled and walked off.

Ten minutes later, the shower turned off as Andy was finishing up the dishes, wanting to contribute in some way to help.

"Hey what are you doing?" Carmen came sliding over, leaving the items of clothing on the counter.

"I wanted to help," Andy said sheepishly, finishing up the silverware.

"Oh amor, you didn't have to do that."

"Yes I did, think of it as a thank you for letting me stay here."

"You can stay here anytime you need to, okay? Now come I got you some clothes." Carmen glided over and grabbed the pile on the counter. "These might be a bit small on you but they're close enough to your size, and the shirt is Miguel's but he said he doesn't mind. You can Change in the bathroom once he's out."

"Thank you so much, Really this means a lot."

"Of course, I could only hope your mother would do the same for my Miguel." Carmen tucked some hair behind her ear in a motherly way.

"Uh, I never really knew my mom. She was a drug addict and CPS found out when I was six and took me away, gave me to my dad." Andy didn't know why she was telling her this, but she felt she could trust her.

"Oh amor, I'm so sorry." Carmen smiled in sympathy.

"It's okay, I've lived fine with my dad all these years so." Andy shrugged. "I love him with everything I got."

Carmen went to say something else when they both heard the bathroom door open, Miguel stepping out with slightly damp hair.

"Hey, everything okay?" Miguel asked, looking between the two woman.

"Perfect, your friend here just did the dishes while I was finding her some clothes. Sneaky girl." Carmen waved a finger at her. Andy giggled in response and shifted nervously.

"Alright go change, we'll set up the air mattress in Miguel's room."

"Oh no, don't go through the trouble, I can take the couch."

"No way, the people above us love to move around above the living room, you can't sleep a wink in there." Carmen patted her on the shoulder and walked off to the closet to find the mattress.

"Your mom is an amazing person." Andy couldn't help but smile.

"Yeah she is, how are you feeling?" Miguel asked, stepping closer.

"I'm okay. I'm worried about him. He hasn't gotten arrested in years." the young brown haired girl sighed in irritation and nerves. "How are you? Get all that stuff out of your hair?"

"Yeah I got it all out, took me three shampoos but..." Both teens laughed.

"Kyler is a jerk, just ignore him, I do." Andy let out a small laugh.

"He goes to school with us doesn't he?"

"Unfortunately, but don't worry Diaz, he won't fuck with you while i'm here."

Miguel couldn't help his smile. The girl was so small and yet tonight she kicked the ass of two men who were much bigger than her and walked away without a scratch. He was in awe of the girl.

"Miguel come help me!"

"Oh uh, you should go change, I'll go help her." Miguel gave a sheepish smile and walked off, stuffing his hands into his pockets. Andy smiled and walked off towards the bathroom, which still had some steam on the mirror from Miguel's shower.

After dressing quickly, Andy found that the shorts were a little too short for her liking and were hidden by the too big shirt of Miguel's. Surprisingly, the shirt smelt good, like laundry detergent mixed with the scent of something different which she could only guess is Miguel's natural scent.

'What am I doing?' Andy shook the thoughts from her head and folded up her clothes nicely before exiting the bathroom right as Carmen exited Miguel's room.

"There you are! The mattress is set. It's late the both of you should sleep." Carmen walked over and hugged the girl, taking her by surprise.

Andy wasn't used to hugs. Her father only hugged her when she was sad or when he was leaving for a long time and her friends weren't very touchy people, although Eli has held her through many panic attacks. But this hug was different, this felt like a mother hugging a daughter and it almost made the younger girl cry.

"Thank you for letting me stay." Andy said again as Carmen pulled away.

"Of course, you can stay anytime." Carmen smiled and tucked some hair behind Andy's ear before walking towards the kitchen.

Slowly walking towards Miguel's room, she found the male on his bed scrolling through his phone. As if feeling her gaze, he looked up and smiled, before it dropped slightly at the sight of her in his shirt.

The shirt was long, covering the shorts almost making it seem like she had no pants on at all. The shirt was extremely baggy, leaving her looking adorable and, in Miguel's eyes, hot as hell.

"Uh, Um, are-are you re-ready for bed?" He stuttered, trying to find his words.

"Yeah." Andy smiled slightly, unknowing to his actions. She set her folded clothes next to her bag and glanced at the air mattress set up for her. Both teens climbed into their respective beds and got comfortable.

"Goodnight Andy..."

"Goodnight Diaz..."
