New Era

The Flag Smashers and Meeting John Walker

     After helping Bucky, we pressed on to find the mysterious attackers. We trekked through the woods in awkward silence; Bucky held my hand, and Sam awkwardly walked beside us. We found an abandoned factory in the distance. I used my powers to see what was happening, and there was a group of people who were loading crates of what looked like vaccines into a series of trucks. "They're stealing medicine," I told Bucky and Sam. Bucky walked ahead of us despite Sam's protests, "What are you doing? You're going to get us caught!" Sam whispered sharply. "They have a hostage," Bucky replied. "Buck, be careful," I warned worriedly. "I will," he assuringly kissed me on the cheek and walked ahead. "What? You spend some time in Wakanda, and you're now the White Panther?" Sam teased Bucky. "It's White Wolf," Bucky kept walking. While Bucky investigated one of the trucks, Sam and I kept ourselves hidden. We had earpieces to communicate with each other, "Babe, what are you finding?" I asked into my earpiece. "There's more in here, and I think I found the hostage," he said. Suddenly, a commotion broke out, and the trucks started speeding away. Sam and I took to the skies to help Bucky. He was on top of one of the trucks in a face-off against a red curly-haired woman wearing a dark colored mask with a red hand print, and other figures jumped on the roof of the truck, and they were wearing the same menacing masks. I landed on the top, and I was in an altercation with one of the figures. The man was about to throw a punch, and I used my hand to block it.  Another masked figure pushed me off the truck, but I used my powers to fly back up and kicked my attackers in their faces,
knocking them off the car. Unfortunately, the masked woman kicked Bucky off the truck, and Sam started making fun of him.

We suddenly were met face to face with the new Captain America, John Walker, and Lemar Hoskins, his alias was Battlestar,  "Looks like you need a little help!" Walker shouted over the chaos. He pridefully threw the infamous shield at the attackers, knocking them off their feet. "I'm Captain America!" Walker introduced himself. "That's great! Should I give you a gold star?!" I shouted sarcastically. I had only known the guy for seconds, and I already wanted to punch him in the face. Steve would never have made a spectacle like that, "Sadie!" Bucky shouted. I jumped off the truck and flew down to carry him away from under the car he was trapped. "Wait for me!" Sam shouted.
I made a barrier form around Bucky and me, but then we crashed through many trees, and we landed on the grass beside each other. I looked at him from where he was lying and smiled. His reaction was adorable; "Thanks for saving me," "Of course, Bucky, I love you," I touched his face. "I love you," he leaned in and kissed me. "Lovebirds! We need to keep moving!" Sam called. Bucky and I got up from where we landed, and we were walking up the trail. Bucky had his arm around me, and we walked close to each other. "I wonder what's going on in that cyborg brain of yours," Sam teased. "It's computing," Bucky answered, looking ahead. "I can tell. I can hear the gears turning," Sam was testing Bucky's patience. "Oh, they're malfunctioning!" he laughed at his joke. I kissed Bucky on the cheek to keep him from snapping. "Now they're on fire!" Sam laughed. "Real funny, Sam," said Bucky sarcastically.

Just then, we heard a voice calling for us, "Hey!" It was Walker and his posse. We didn't acknowledge him; we kept walking. "You know, I was thinking we could team up!" Walker kept calling to us. "Yeah, that's not happening," Bucky said promptly. It was a long walk, so we rode in the car that was driving Walker and Hoskins. It was an exhausting day, so I put my head on Bucky's shoulder and he held me. The car ride was awkward, but Sam was chatting away with Walker. I tuned out most of the conversation because I really wasn't interested in what Narcissus had to say. Bucky and I always held each other for comfort, because we love each other. Walker then proceeded to talk about how great it would be if we teamed up together to fight the Flag Smashers. I couldn't believe this man called himself Captain America, and like Bucky said, he was dragging Steve's name through the mud. "Stop the car!" Bucky shouted, and we hopped out of the truck and Sam joined us.

Bucky, Sam, and I took a jet back to the States that night, shocked at what we had discovered.
