[SORRY FOR ANY ERRORS]

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
MARCH 12th,1990

"Make sure you guys complete your homework tonight! I will be randomly calling on people tomorrow so make sure you complete what you need to." Mr. Sepia yelled over the bell.

I quickly packed up my belongings and put them inside of my bag. I was tired as hell, probably more tired than usual.

Truth be told, I was getting sick of the constant tension between Malik and I. We haven't talked at all since our minor blow up. I saw him earlier today in Earth Science but he acted like never saw me.

I kid you not, we made direct eye contact with each other. We must've stared at each other for a good minute before I made my way to the back of the class.

I honestly don't know if this relationship is gonna go anywhere if we keep acting so petty. It's like we're exactly alike; I'm not gonna put my pride aside and I know damn well he wasn't gonna put his aside either.

"You good A'mya?" Nasir asked as he looked down at me. He had a faint smile on his face as he stared at me.

"Yeah, why are you asking me that?" I inquired with a sigh as I stood up from my seat.

Nasir shrugged. "I don't know, I could just feel something ain't right with you. You barely said anything to me when you walked in the class.."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "I never say anything to you when I walk into this class. You're always the one to pick a fight with me." I replied while walking away from my desk and towards the direction of the door.

"I never pick a fight with you Mya. You always the one walking up in here with a stink ass attitude." Nasir quickly retorted, walking after me.

I swiftly turned my head to look at him as I stepped into the hallway. "Nasir, you're picking a fight with me right now!" I exclaimed.

"How is me saying you got a stink ass attitude picking a fight? I'm just telling it like it is..." He replied, looking at me with a grin.

Here we fucking go...

"Get out of my face Chippy." I quickly retored, rolling my eyes a bit.

Nasir scrunched up his face. "Chippy? Who the fuck is that?" He questioned while the both of us exited the classroom.

"You, well that tooth in the front of your mouth." I pointed out, giving him a smirk as I watched his facial expression drastically change.
