𝐁ROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
SEPTEMBER 6th, 1989"You okay?" My mom asks me. I look at her as she was currently driving me to my new school.
"I'm good." I say, turning my attention back to outside the window.
I always hated new things. I never really knew why and it wasn't like I cared to find out. I was too nonchalant of a person to worry about why things are the way they are.
"You sure? I know it's your first day in a whole new environment." My mom says, pulling up in front of the school and parking the car.
I unbuckle my seat belt and sigh.
"I've been doing this school thing for about 12 years. You do not have to worry about me." I respond while playing around with my necklace.
"You are right. You've been going to school for about 12 years but you have been living in New York for only two months. The people here are different my love. It's definitely not like Washington D.C." She says and I nod slowly.
"Evidently." I remark lowly and I hear my mom let out a low groan.
"I love you." She says and I smile a little.
"I love you too mom." I say, opening the passenger door and walking out. I watch the car drive off a little before turning around and looking at my new school face to face.
"Erasmus High: Home of the Bulldogs" I read to myself, looking at the huge banner plasted on the school.
I gained the courage to walk inside the school. While walking, i observed my surroundings.
The lockers were blue and there was a water fountain in every corner. The personalities were different and so was the slang.
I became a slave to my space until I was knocked out of my thoughts by someone bumping into me.
