[SORRY FOR ANY ERRORS]

𝐁ROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
SEPTEMBER 11th, 1989

It was 11:15am.

On a Monday morning.

Aaliyah canceled the whole meet up thing on Saturday because she had to do something with her family.

It wasn't like I cared for her cancelling because I really didn't want to go to that shit anyways.

I was currently in Earth Science. Completely unamused at what I was learning.

My teacher Ms.Zeng was talking about the phases of the moon and I didn't really understand why I was relearning something I learned in the 6th grade.

I feel like the topics we learn in school is unnecessary and redundant.

I mean who really cares about the phases of the moon?

But with all the complaining I was mentally doing, I was still copying down the notes.

Malik told the truth when he said he had Earth Science with me.

He didn't show up last week so it gave me the impression that he was lying.

He was sitting in the front row and I was in the third.

I had a good view of him and I analyzed his back profile.

I actually like Malik. I think he's cute but my gut was telling me something isn't what it seems.

I don't think it was his personality because I know he is being 100% authentic. He does share the same sign as me so I would know firsthand. We don't have the time to put up an act. But I think that it's a reason why he's doing this. And the thought irritated me.

I decided after class I was going to approach him and ask what he really wants from me.

I snapped out of my thoughts and into reality.

I realized that the people around me were closing their books and packing up.

I looked back at the clock and the bell rang.

I quickly packed up my things and got up from my seat.

Malik was the first one out of the door and I didn't know what class he was headed off to next.
