The first thing I felt was warmth.
Not softness. Not comfort— just warmth, like someone had wrapped the cold out of my bones and forced heat back into me.
For a few seconds, I floated in it.
Then the pain slammed back.
A sharp breath tore out of me. My chest heaved. Something tugged at my skin—stitches, bandages, gauze, wires.
I jerked awake with a strangled gasp.
White lights. White sheets. A steady beeping.
A hospital.
My head spun. Everything blurred— shapes, shadows, movement. A dull ache throbbed everywhere at once, like my body had been stitched back together piece by piece.
Something cool dripped steadily into my arm. I turned my head slightly and caught sight of it— a transparent saline line taped carefully to my vein. Another tube disappeared beneath the sheets near my side.
Painkillers. Antibiotics. Fluids to replace what I’d lost.Blood.Too much blood.
“Ara… Ara, hey. You’re awake—”
Jungkook.
I blinked until he came into focus. His eyes were swollen from crying, his hair messy, his clothes crumpled like he hadn’t left this room in days.
“J–Jungkook?” My voice cracked painfully as I tried sitting up.
When I tried to move, the pain flared instantly.
Warm hands stopped me before I could try again. “Don’t,” Jungkook said gently. “You’ve got multiple sutures. Deep ones. The doctors said even small movements could tear them.”
I swallowed. My throat burned— dry, raw.
“Two units of blood,” he added quietly, like it scared him to say it out loud. “You lost a lot.”
He let out a broken breath and pressed his forehead lightly against my hand.
“You scared the hell out of me,” he whispered. “I thought I lost you.”
I swallowed again. “What… happened?”
His jaw tightened. “You were bleeding out when we found you. You stopped responding. You—” He shook his head. “We don't have to talk about that right now.”
Before I could say anything, the door opened.
Taehyung rushed in first, instantly freezing when he saw me awake. His eyes filled with tears he pretended not to have.
