Delaney stood, her arms resting on the counter of the diner. She watched as the clock continued to tick by slowly.
"Come here often?" A voice asked behind her. Delaney jumped, turning to see Matt, she smiled at the boy.
"Hey Matt."
"Hey Delaney, how's it hanging? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever," He frowned, coming to stand next to the girl.
"Yeah, It feels like it's been a while,"
"Things good with you and Lip?" He asked the girl, nudging her slightly. Delaney smiled, "Yeah, I think so? He's just been swamped these past couple of days."
"You know when you said you wanted to be friends I didn't think it was to get with a different guy," Matt trailed off. Delaney frowned, "Matt... I-"
"Relax Delaney. I'm messing with you, it's cool, for real." He smiled. Delaney sighed in relief before a ding from the front door caught her attention.
"D!" Fiona called out to the girl, Debbie trailing behind her.
"Oh hey Fiona," Delaney grinned, "What's up?"
"Debbie's got a question for you."
Delaney looked at the younger girl. "Whats up Debs?"
"Will you pretty please come to my sleepover on Saturday?" The red-headed pleaded. Delaney laughed before nodding. "Of course I'll be there! You want me to bring anything?"
"Actually, Lanes we were hoping you could come early to help us set up," Fiona added.
"Sure! I get off at 2 on Saturday so I'll be there right after."
"Thanks D!" "Thanks Laney!" The two Gallaghers spoke at the same time before exiting the diner.
"Hey, so that Fiona..." Matt whispered to Delaney.
"Nice try, but you aren't her type."
