"Oh my gosh!" Abbie exclaims. "I can't believe that we're finally starting ninth grade, and high school."

"Same," Harper squeaks. I laugh.

"Relax you guys," I say. They both roll their eyes. (Abbie and Harper both have hazel eyes, and pale skin. Abbie has blond hair and Harper has light brown hair.) We are sitting in my room on the day before we go back to school. My twin sister is at her friends house. My parents left for a business trip yesterday.

During dinner, Aubrey comes in and sits in front of Luca, our older brother.

"Guess what?" Bree asks.

"What?" Luca asks, annoyed. Being a high schooler has changed him. (He's in eleventh grade.)

"I was talking with mom and dad while walkin' home and they said that the three of us can dye our hair if we want," My older twin says. I look at the clock. It's only 7:30 so we can dye our hair now.

"Lets go," Luca says, his eyes sparkling with amusement. Luca drives us to a salon after dinner and we start choosing colors. I get light brown highlights to compliment my dark brown hair. Bree gets blonde highlights and Luca dyes the tips of his hair blond.

Luca, Bree, and I pay for it (honestly, it didn't cost that much) and go home. I immediately text Harper and Abbie about my new hair and send them a picture.

My sister knocks on the door and asks, "You ready?" I nod. Bree then holds up a box full of nail paints. I smile. Getting our nails painted is a White Twins tradition. I pick peach (because my fav color is orange) and Bree picks lilac (because purple is her favorite color). 8th grade might not be the worst grade ever.

I whip out my phone and start watching YouTube Shorts. I burst out laughing every time something hilarious happens. When I look up at the clock, it says its 12:00. Better get to sleep. Highschool, here I come.
