The brightness of the day diminishes as the sun began to set, the time already reaching seven pm. Ever since the colder days, the sun sets quicker, but luckily, March has hit, and in no time, I'll be entering the season I yearn for.

I feel something wet drip on my face, and within the second time, I let out a groan in disgust, "Sebastian, I think it's gonna rain," I complain, wiping the rain from my forehead.

"If you're having the worst time of your life, you could've told me, Avery. Not make up ridiculous excuses." the grin lacing his voice gives off his sarcasm, but I can't help to jump to defend myself.

"That's far from ridicul- for your information, I'm having an incredible-" I stop myself abruptly from Sebastian shooting me a knowing smug.

"It feels much more promising when you admit it." he smiles confidently while flashing a wink at me.

I roll my eyes, dismissing the conversation and grabbing ahold of his hand. His flowing curls played a part in hiding his face from getting wet alongside his jacket. The only chance to show him the upcoming weather change is in his palm.

I face his palm towards the sky, and the droplets began falling onto the surface, catching him off guard, "Don't sweat it, babe, we are almost there."

"You've been saying that for five minutes," I say, dropping his hand from mine and covering my head, afraid the rain will ruin my hair that took forever.

"That was only to convince you to stop complaining, now I mean it."

We continue to walk to the destination that feels like miles away until it feels like a bucket full of water comes crashing down on us and the low temperature of the water has me gasping for air.

"Sebastian!" I screech, clinging to his side.

"Run over to that building," he says over the rain, placing his hand on my lower back so I can get ahead of him. I take off running across the street, getting to safety as fast as I can while I listen to the low grunts of Sebastian behind me.

Eventually, making it to the abandoned building underneath the open car garage, we both stop and lean against opposite walls of each other as we stare back into each other's eyes.

Panting for air, a smile sneaks its way to Sebastian's lips, and I cock my brows, tilting my head a little bit, causing him to break out into a fit of laugher as he leans forwards.

His laugh is blocking out sounds of cars and the rain while his eyes squint shut. The thrill his eyes gave right before they closed resulted in me breaking into laughter alongside him when I couldn't pinpoint what exactly was funny, but I didn't care; this feels so much better than just watching him.

"You were so scared." he voices in between laughs.

"Hey, you try doing your hair for hours," I argue back.

He shakes his head, calming down his laughing and looking across at me while he presses his back against the wall, "you think my curls are always like this?" Judging by the way, I would watch him stroll into my job each daybreak; he never looked like he'd just awoken. He often looked as if he was dressed for someone important. I would never have thought he'd notice me, let alone ask me out.

The low temperature of the wet rain starts to settle in, and I can't help but shiver at how cold it's starting to feel due to the soft wind traveling around my wet skin.
