Time and time passed by as the weeks crept up and we were officially out of spring and staring summer right in the eyes. I hated summer and missed the smell of spring air- the better season but the good thing is my brother has officially moved out.

These past couple of months he's been searching more and working harder to get where he is today, in his apartment. It felt amazing to hear he was finally taking life seriously and getting his shit together, it was only a matter of time. When he informed me of the news, I jumped to help him pack and move all of his belonging into his place and Sebastian even happened to help speed up the process.

Now we are helping Sebastian, the semester ended for him and he hurried to leave his clingy beloved roommate- moving successfully in under a week. He had an offer on the table ready for him to accept when the classes had ended. He took it the moment he knew he'd be rushing into the place, I'm quite happy for both of them.

The sun is soon to drop as we make our way to my parent's house. A couple of weeks back I arranged a date for Ash and me to visit; my parents insisted I bring Sebastian along. As much as I talked about him, I'm not surprised that they want to meet him as much as he wishes to meet them. I wish things were the same with his parents, I wanted nothing more than to meet them when the time was right. Meeting hisfather is off the table but hopefully, I'll get to meet his mother someday.

"Are you nervous, Sebastian?" Ash chuckles pushing Sebastian's shoulder as Sebastian gazes ahead in silence. I turn to face him as he turns back to look at Ash deep in the back. He laughs and shrugs his shoulders, making eye contact with me before turning back to Ash. "I'm not exactly nervous, I just hope I can make a good first impression"

Ash laughs in disbelief, "are you kidding? They're gonna love you. you're a great guy"

I smile at Ash's words and so does Sebastian, "thanks man" Ash pats Sebastian's shoulder and sits back.

I keep my eyes straight a head, focusing on the road, "Yeah seb, you have nothing to worry about. My parents are easy on new comers. After they get comfortable with you is what u need to worry about" I chuckle, pulling up to the house and shutting off the car.

Sebastian doesn't look nervous In the slightest, in fact his shoulders are up and his head and face straight ahead, he looks more confident then ever which makes my insides warm up.

Heading to the door, it pulls open fast as we face the porch and my mom smiles big and wide, "my children" She says gently, stepping back so we can step in.

I step inside, removing my shoes and gesturing for Sebastian to do so as well and my mom, pulls ash into a hug and kisses his forehead then does the same for me, she stop and smiles up at Sebastian, eyes sparking.

"You must be Sebastian?" She questions holding his hand in both of hers, caressing it.

"I am ms Phoenix, it's nice to finally meet you" He greats shaking her hand, she laughs and pulls him to into a hug.

"No need for the formality, you're family now" she laughs rubbing his back, I can see the color in his cheeks brighten as he hugs her tightly.

"Are you kids hungry?" She asks gesturing for us to follow her into the kitchen.

"Mom, where's dad?" I ask hanging up my purse and follow them towards the table. My mom stands a bit stiff, bringing the food to the table. Her body language sinking.

"Your father had another emergency business trip" she says not making eye contact with me but keeping a simple smile to her lips as we gather around the table.

I feel my stomach turn as I avoid showing the hurt that rose within my body, I haven't seen my parents in months due to how busy and stressful life how gotten. All I asked was for one evening to catch up on things we've missed and check on each other well being, I even scheduled this evening- making sure everyone agrees to have this night off, and my father couldn't even stick to this one thing.
