"Sebastian," I say once more and he finally sighs fixing himself to reply.
"My father called," his words came out soft, almost inaudible, and I stand stiff in my shoes.
After that night Sebastian shared the deep trauma he endured, I could see the hurt in his eyes and the pain in his voice. He's moved past it but hasn't fully forgiven his father for the emotional neglect and the hardships he's caused him. Sebastian is a good guy, he doesn't take much to heart but his father's words seem to hold a great significance to his negative feelings.
My buzz seemed to have resurfaced after I arrived home, I guess the adrenaline made me feel sober but since the rush is calm, every little feeling is back. I want to be here for him appropriately and not in this stage when I can hardly keep my composure. "I'm sorry Seb," I say gagging at the salty substance rising in my throat. "What did he say?"
For a few seconds, he just watches me, his face fixing from sad to concerned, "are you drunk?" He questions bluntly and I swallow the lump in my throat, shaking my head. I thought I'd be able to pretend sober for a bit but I guess Sebastian wasn't buying the act.
He walks closer to me reaching out for my cheek and holding it there gently, I give in to the urge to melt my face into his hand and close my eyes but he redirects my attention to his face and scans me.
His eyes travel across my face and he leans closer watching the jitter in my eyes, "You are drunk V" He drops his hand to his side and stares down at me.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't expect you to be here and didn't what you to see me this why" I confess wobbling to the door and unlocking it slowly.
"If you're going to unlock the door that slow, the least you could do is watch your back every once in a while" Sebastian sighed shutting the door behind us and locking it.
"There's no need, you were right there." I shrug my shoulders, trying to properly make my way to the stair. I place my hand on the wall to steady myself as I pull my heels off one by one.
I make my way up the stairs, feeling my vision blur more and more as I drop my heels and my weakened body. My body begins sinking into the comforts and the heaviness of my head forces my eyes shut until the sound of footsteps makes their way to me.
"Drink this" Sebastian says walking up to me, a huge smile grows on my face. Squinted eyes and all, I reach for the water bottle and down half of it within seconds.
"Don't drink so fast, you're gonna puke" he warns sitting beside my head as I lay spread out on the bed.
I try catching my breath to respond properly as I cap up the bottle, handing it back to Sebastian, "I haven't had much hydration today. I needed that"
Sebastian furrows his brows and clears his throat before speaking, "So where did you go?"
"I hung out with Holly and her friends. I would've stayed longer if some perv didn't lace my fucking drink" I complain running my hands through my already ruined curls as Sebastian stare back at me frantically.
"What?"
Once I realized what I'd said I quickly try to clarify my utterance to ease his worries, "I didn't take one sip, I threw it back in his face"
