Edward's POV
The vampire in front of us smiled sinisterly at us. Or me, actually. His eyes, blood red, were fixated on my neck, and his muscles bulged underneath his T-shirt. He looked young, 25 or so. He stepped forward and so did Bella.
"Little one, step aside. I haven't fed in days, surely you can sacrifice your meal for me?" he said in a rough English voice. "Oh, ya mean Edward? Yeah, he's my boyfriend so lay off, dork." Bella clenched her fists. THe other vampire towered over Bella, but then agan, everyone towered over Bella's short stature.
"Bella, no-" I was cut off as the human drinking vampire lunged at me. Bella tore after him, her eyes feral as she grabbed his foot and twisted, breaking it off. I stepped back. "Bella! Um...maybe we should go..." I trailed off. The vampire man spun around. "Not yet, love! Go back to the house. This little idiot is not ruining our vacation. Go!" Bella called back. I took off sprinting back to the house, trying to remember which way to go.
As I closed the door behind me, the phone rang. Brrriiiinnngggg!!! Brrriiiinnngggg!!! I swiped the phone up and said, "Hello?"
"Edward? Oh my god, Edward!" Alice's voice rang through the phone. "Where's Bella?" she implored.
"Well, a vampire came and Bella started to fight so she sent me back to the house. WHy, what do you see?" I worried. Images of Bella's limbs ripped off, the rogue vampire standing above her, his next target the weak boyfriend Bella had died trying to protect, all because I wanted to go for a walk. UGH.
"I see her coming back with no injuries. Just as long as you weren't stubborn and didn't stay with her there, your vacation is fine." There was a soft click, and I knew Alice put the phone down. I did just that, and waited for my tiny vampire girlfriend.
Ten minutes later, Bella strode into the house, looking perfect as ever. "Hey! You ready to get this vacation on?" she asked excitedly, pointedly avoiding the encounter with the vampire. I grinned. "Hell yeah!"
*************
Our vacation started off with going to see the movie Thor. It was just something to do together. I squeezed her hand as we sat in the dark room, munching on popcorn. Well, I munched on popcorn while she simply stared at me. "How do you eat that?" she hissed, disgusted.
"Try it." I held out a fistful of popcorn to her. She narrowed her eyes. "Nu-uh-uh. I am NOT eating that blasted popcorn." We both silently cracked up as the movie continued.
The next day, we went bowling. I beat Bella the first round, and she beat me the second. And the third. And the fourth. And the fifth. I personally thought she let me win the one time that I did.
As our week of relaxation passed, I eased into the bliss of spending time with Bella. One day, we went swimming in the indoor pool of the house. I pushed Bella in, with her probably knowing I would (stupid vampire hearing!) and in turn she pulled me down with her. We splashed and Bella showed off her amazing 'no need to breathe' skill as I'd put it. Another day, we went horseback riding, and Bella's horse took off running after smelling her scent. She then giggled and darted after it, dragging it back so that she could ride with me.
THe day we had to go home was a sad one. Maine had been my most fun trip to anywhere. Mainly because of the amazing girl I'd spent it with.
So, this was a crappy filler chapter. I just wanted to give you something while I completed a better chapter. I may not upload for a while, because my parents are divorcing, and even though I should be able to handle it...I'm not. So bear with me please, and I'll try to upload new chapters soon.
