Edward's POV

I woke to a beeping noise. Tubes surrounded me and everything was white. A hospital. A man stood over me, checking a machine. He turned to me. I recognized him as Dr. Cullen.

"Well, you had a terrible attack, my daughter tells me. Are you okay?" he asked. He had blond hair and well, looked very young. Bella sat beside him. I shot daggers at her. She smirked. I felt helpless.

"You're all set, Edward. It was a pleasure to meet you," Dr. Cullen said, helping me out of the very uncomfortable bed. Bella walked to the door, where a caramel haired woman stood waiting. I guessed it was Mrs. Cullen, Bella's mother.

Dr. Cullen left to talk to his wife. I sighed. Life here was too complicated. I missed home, where it was calmer. I left the room, just to hear a conversation going between Mrs. Cullen, Dr. Cullen, and Bella.

"Why would you drink in front of him? And why would you do this?" Dr. Cullen asked disapprovingly. Bella shook her head while throwing her hands up, exasperated.

"What'd you want me to do, leave him there? I couldn't just let him die!" Mrs. Cullen softened and swept her daughter into an embrace. "Its okay, Bella." Bella held up one finger to her and whirled around to set her eyes on me. She whispered something to her parents before striding over to me.

"What did you hear?" Bella demanded, hands on hips. Her face was angry like a ghost's, and her eyes a fiery tone. They had lost their liquid-like quality and had hardened into a sunlit solid, like they always did when she was angry.

"Everything," I mumbled, averting my eyes from hers. "How did you get to me so fast?" I asked, gaining courage. "You weren't in the nearby woods." Bella frowned.

"Can't you just thank me and get over it?" Bella snapped, her fists clenching. The color drained from my face. I realized she was right and how snobby I must seem.

"You're right, sorry. Thank you for saving my life," I told her. But now I stared at Bella defiantly, refusing to get over it.

"You're not over it, are you?" Bella said wearily. I shook my head smugly. Bella smirked as she took a step back.

"Then I hope you enjoy disappointment." With that, Bella Cullen walked away, leaving me feeling useless, like usual.

The next day, Bella and her family weren't at school. It was sunny. I was so glad that the sun was there, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed that the Cullens weren't here. Taylor continued to flirt with me, and if that wasn't enough, Mike Newton started to talk bad about the Cullens. I heard a bit of a conversation with Ben Cheney.

"Those kids don't belong here. I mean, who do they think they are, missing school whenever they want?" Ben snarled. Mike laughed darkly.

"That Bella really doesn't know a thing about who the right guy is," he said lowly. I felt a stab at my heart; he shouldn't say a thing about Bella.

That entire week, I waited for the Cullens to come back, but all those sunny days, they never did. It was when I saw Mike with his arm around Jessica Stanley's shoulder that it hit me: I was in love with Bella.

What did you all think of it??? I am really bored of writing this because I wanna write more about what happens AFTER Edward finds out Bella's secret. DOnt worry, he'll still love her, but I wanna write about that. So next chapter will be of Edward and Bella talking and then Edward finding out. Comment, vote, fan! Thanks lovelies!!!
