Edward's POV

After getting a map and a pass for my teachers to sign, I was told to go to Mr. Varner. With no directions except from my map, I started to wander around the halls of the school.

A tall red-haired girl came up to me. "You're Edward Masen, right?" she asked. I mentally groaned. Definitely overly helpful.

I nodded. "I'm Taylor," she said, smiling. I smiled too, but only to be polite. "Where's your next class?" she asked, walking with me. "Trigonometry with Mr. Varner." My voice was a tiny bit bitter as I said this.

Taylor's face fell. "Oh, well I'm with Mrs. Goff," she sighed. "See you around." Taylor reluctantly walked to a different building. I smiled in relief.

I glanced down at my map. I turned a corner, to face a whole herd of students who were also late for class. Oh, crap, I was late, that had reminded me.

I pushed through the students and made it to Mr. Varner's classroom. I opened through the door and took in the children. Confused faces greeted me but then the answer to who I was dawned and them and then curiousity replaced their previous expressions.

I handed my pass to Mr. Varner, who signed it and sent me to a seat in the back. I was glad for that because I really was shy and didn't want to have to stand up in front of a bunch of unknown students.

Mr. Varner started to babble on about something. It took me a few minutes to realize that I already had learned this unit. I allowed my mind to drift to the band of mysterious kids in the office this morning.

The brunette had a caring look in her eye, like she knew what it was like to be the new kid. They seemed out of place here, with their beauty. Of course, beauty didn't matter to me at all, I just felt like that girl was looking for me. I was always considered a romantic and freak back in Phoenix.

The blond girl looked angry from the start. I had a feeling she was always like that. Her boyfriend, or the boy I supposed her boyfriend was, the curly-haired boy, looked as though he were playful and despite his muscles, and a teddy bear.

Then there was the strange blond male. What could possibly cause him pain? He dresses a thousand times better than anyone in this school with the exception of his family, has a bubbly-looking girlfriend, good looks, what else does every normal boy besides me want? I didn't want that, I only wanted a good life. The little spiky-haired girl, who was about a foot shorter than her mate, looked so happy to see me. I mean, literally, if her boyfriend hadn't been holding onto her, she might've started jumping up and down while screaming. It looked like she did that a lot.

But I couldn't get my mind off the brown-haired beauty. She was paler than me, and that's really saying something, and her golden eyes looked thoughtful as they analyzed me. But the way she glared at me as she was leaving! What had I done? I'd only been looking at them, sorry if I was curious!

For a while I just pictured her face as she gave a slight grin when she first spotted me. It made me happy to see her happy. That was strange, very strange, because I didn't even know her. I guess that's life for you.

Alice's POV

Another vision and I'll burst! All of these visions are surrounding the new kid, Edward Masen. I saw him talking to Taylor, a prissy, two-faced big talker. As more visions came, I started to focus on what they could mean.

In one vision, Bella, my best friend/sister, was kissing Edward. Then they broke away. 'I love you,' Edward murmured. 'As I love you,' Bella replied. In another vision, Edward and Bella were at the altar. Bella's golden eyes gazed up into Edward's fantastic green ones.

They were getting married! Yay! I had a wedding to plan! Of course, it would be two years or so, but I could wait a while. As long as I could plan.

Then, a vision interrupted my wedding ideas. It was Edward, sitting with Bella. But his face was all I focused on. His eyes were red, and he was extremely pale. He was a vampire. But it was a little foggy, as if the image was missing something. I dove into the future harder, only to give myself a headache.

Bella? She changed him? If they loved each other enough, then I could see that, but she didn't know him! Also, would she actually doom him to an eternity of being a frozen monster. Chances of that weren't high.

Bella glanced at me, seeing that I was having another vision. I nodded to assure her that everything was okay. She didn't buy it.

Jazz gave me a worried look. I offered him a confident smile. What trouble my visions were causing. Jazz replied with a stare that said I'll keep quiet for now, but you will tell me later.

I loved Jasper. I found him and together, we found Carlisle and his family. I met Bella, my best, best, BEST friend. We did everything together, except shopping. She hated shopping.

Then there was Rose. Rosalie was a good sister, and I loved her. To outsiders, she was a quiet, but angry-looking angel. But when she was with her family, she was a fun-loving, sweet vampire.

Esme was an amazing mother figure. Sometimes, I would slip up and call her "Mom" instead of Esme. But she loved when I made that mistake and encouraged me to do it more often. Bella and Rose did it, I did it a lot. Same thing with Carlisle. He was so passionate. He loved all of us equally, no matter what we did.

Emmett was the big brother that Bella and I had always wanted. He was fun-loving and careless. More often then not, he would get his sorry butt into trouble and we would have to fish him out. We didn't mind, it was fun having him around.

I loved my family and I knew that soon I would have an addition to my family. I already knew who he was and how it was going to happen.

Bella's POV

The delicious scent surprised me. From Carlisle's theories, this boy's blood was my singer. La tua cantante, I remembered. He had a delectible smell, it made venom flow into my mouth, but I held it back. I wasn't about to ruin everything Dad, I mean, Carlisle, had built for us. Not only that, but the disappointment Esme and him would both have for me. I gave him a murderous glare. He was a devil, come to ruin my life by tempting me so much. I wanted to taste his blood so much. But I couldn't do that, it would only make matters worse.

As my family and I walked away, I noticed that Alice was in the middle of a vision. She saw me looking at her and nodded, faking reassurance. I didn't look too convinced, apparently.

Emmett and Rosalie started off to their classes, unwillingly parting at the intersection. Alice, Jasper, and I were all in the same classes. Em and Rose were posing as seniors, Alice, Jazz, and I as juniors.

I heard nasty old Taylor coming up to the cruel boy who made my throat burn relentlessly. "You're Edward Masen, right?" she asked. She definitely liked him. The boy nodded. Ah, so Edward was his name.

"I'm Taylor." She introduced herself with pride. I walked away, uninterested. I was fascinated with Edward, but I could care less if Taylor impressed the president.
