I awoke the next morning to my comm beeping. Rex had me pulled into his bare chest. The events from last night flashed through my head, causing my face to burn. The beeping must have woken Rex up too since he shifted back from me. I wiggled out and grabbed the comm. "[Y/N] speaking."

"I hope you two have enjoyed this past time off, but we have a new mission. And this one is important. Meet me at the ship as soon as possible. Anakin out." I heard Rex grunt and get up.

"I was hoping we'd have more time off," he said while gathering his blacks.

"Duty calls, Rex," I joked and slipped out of bed. I found my normal attire for missions and started getting dressed. Rex must have finished before me because he came over and wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his head in my shoulder.

"Was last night okay?" He sounded so soft; he was so caring.

"No, it was more than okay. I'm glad it happened." I turned so I was facing him. His brown eyes and smile were so soft. I reached up and pecked his lips. "Vacation's over, we gotta go." He turned and started packing our things. Thankfully, he had gotten a backpack one of those times we walked around town. He shoved all his new clothes in. I did the same, fastening my lightsaber to my hip. I held my masters. Ahsoka and I had trained to double-wield, I just didn't know if I could wield this one. It held such powerful emotions for me.

"What's wrong?" Rex asked walking over. "That's your master's lightsaber, right? I remember you showing me."

"I just don't know if I'm ready to wield it. My master was very powerful. They were like a parent to me. I just don't know if I can mentally wield it."

"From what I see of Anakin and Ahsoka, he would want her to have his if anything happened. I bet your master felt the same. They would be so proud of where you are today." I smiled up at him. He was right. I could no longer mourn their death. I fastened the lightsaber to my other hip and finished packing. We arrived at the loading bay a little before noon. I shot a side-glance at Rex. I forgot how good he looked in his armor.

"Glad to see you two could make it," Anakin said coming around the corner with a tablet in hand. "Rex, I need your help double checking we got everything. I do not want anything missing from this list. [Y/N] I need you to ensure we have all our men. Call meetings in every group and see who's still missing."

"Ani, what's the mission? What's so important?"

"The Separatist are going after Kamino." My heart sank, I could sense Rex's disbelief.

"But, sir, that's ridiculous. How could they attack Kamino? It's deep in Republic territory."

"We have the reports and Grievous is on his way there now. We don't have time, just do as I ask." He turned and left. If the Separatist attacked Kamino, that would mean the end of Clone production. But more than that, it was a direct attack on Rex's home. I looked back at Rex and shot him a smile, then ran off to do ask Anakin asked. The men were accounted for and the necessary equipment was loaded. I met with Anakin in the bridge. As we took off, he was recounting Ahsoka's recent adventures. She went to Mandalore and helped show corruption in the government with the help of some students, and she protected Padme against an assassin. The little one was getting so big now. As we were talking, Rex joined us. We received a transmission from Obi-Wan; he and his men would rendezvous with us.

Once everyone was together, we landed on Kamino. Anakin and I would lead the aerial defense while Obi-wan stayed below. I did not see much of Rex and Cody once we landed. They wanted to check who was ready to fight and who was still in training at Kamino. I got in my fighter and took off. It wasn't long before Grievous showed up with his fleet. The attack was easy; he was outnumbered heavily, and his ships were being ripped apart. Obi-Wan expressed concern about how easy it was and went to investigate the wreckage that crashed in Kamino's ocean. "Only you would be worried about the ships I've already shot down", Anakin retorted. We continued our fight until Obi-Wan called saying they were under attack. Anakin and I broke off and shot down to the surface. Once there, we could see the extent of the battle. It wasn't a lot of ships or droids. We landed and went to work on the aqua droids that were in the base. Anakin went to defend the DNA of Jango Fett and I helped go through the droids that were in the hangar bay. Once they were cleared out, the men and I spread out throughout the base trying to weed them out. Apparently, Ventress and Grievous were here. Anakin was going against Ventress and Obi-Wan was fighting Grievous. I worked with Shaak Ti to work through the droids that were nearing the command center. They were thinned out now. I hadn't seen Rex or the boys the whole fight. There were so many Clones here. A lot were in white, plain uniforms and others had colors on them. At one point I saw a Clone get shot down and I thought they were 501st because of their colors, but as I neared, I saw it was a slightly different shade of blue. The droids were mostly destroyed when Anakin commed and said that Ventress and Grievous escaped.
