"Get up sleepy head," Kaili urged from her spot standing at the head of chenle's bed.

When her call got no response she grabbed his shoulder, shaking it gently.

"Lele you have to get up."

"Why?" He groaned, trying to release himself from her grip.

"Because the bus for nationals leaves in twenty five minutes," she stated matter of factly, and chenle's eyes shot open.

"What!"

He quickly got up, running over to his dresser to throw in a different shirt while Kaili lounged on his bed, laughing at his panicked state.

"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" He whined, taking out a pair of sweats before eyeing his best friend five feet away and shrugging, deciding to just wear his pajamas on the ride.

"You're old enough to wake yourself up, big head," she whacked the back of his head before continuing, "and I don't even live here, you're lucky I came to make sure you were up before I left."

"Yes thank you Kaili, you're the best, wait! How did you get in my house?"

"With the key your mom gave me, idiot."

He rolls his eyes but grabs his suitcase instead of retaliating, rolling it out of his room and down the stairs. Chenle ducks into his parents bedroom, telling them goodbye before he joins Kiali back in the kitchen.

"You need to eat before we leave, Lele," she reminds him.

"Have you eaten?"

"Well no," she avoids his eyes.

"Hypocrite!" He yells, chasing her out the door so that their yelling wouldn't wake up his parents.

"Hey well I had to rush over here and wake you up, I was busy!"

"Just shut up and get in the car."

Kaili laughs as she moves her luggage out of her car and into her best friends, ignoring his teases as she climbs in the front seat.

"The usual?" He asks as he pulls the car into a drive thru, ordering before Kaili can respond.

"Hey what if I wanted something different?" She whines, and Chenle raises his eyebrow as they pull up to the window.

"Did you?"

"Well no-"

"Then shut up!" He laughs as the worker hands him Kaili's iced coffee, the woman looking way too tired for the two teens energy at six in the morning.

"Thank you," Chenle expresses his gratitude as he gets handed the bag of their food.

Kaili hands Chenle his muffin as he drives towards the school, getting hers out and biting into it as well.

"I hate this song," she complains, and Chenle whacks her in the arm.

"I can't understand you through all the muffin in your mouth. Swallow first you nasty," he complains.

"Just- never mind I'll do it," she reaches across the arm rest, changing the song and beginning to dance along to the Twice song that had come on instead.

They were probably the last ones to arrive, and Kaili waved at Yuna and Chaeryeong in the car next to them, flipping up a middle finger when they make kissy faces at her and Chenle.

The coaches arrive and the teenagers all file out of the warmth of their vehicles, doing head counts and piling in the travel bus.

Chenle and Kaili took their seats next to each other, finishing their breakfast and preparing for the long bus ride, followed by a not-as-long but still-too-long plane ride.

Kaili laid her head on her best friends shoulder while he played a game on his phone, her eyes falling shut before the safety talk was even started.

Chenle noticed, laughing and putting his phone in his carry on before laying his head on top of hers and doing the same with his hand, interlacing their fingers while he dozed off.
