"Everyone, fasten your seatbelts!" Fred shouted.
"It would be way cooler if you added, 'It's going to be a bumpy ride.'" Joe said as he put on his sunglasses.
"Just deal with it!" George exclaimed.
As the vehicle sped up, Mari kept looking at the back, outside the window. She then realized that it wasn't what it seemed to be as she waved to the people that were following them.
"Excuse me, uhm guys, I don't think we need to speed up." Mari said.
"Why is that?" Fred asked, while focusing on his driving.
"I know them-"
"If you know them, then that doesn't mean you can trust them!"
Mari's breath hitched and went quiet when Fred raised his voice. She then sat back down in her seat and hugged her bag. She was shaking, but tried not to show it to others.
Vlad seemed to have noticed Mari's current behaviour, so he got up from his seat and walked towards Fred.
"Hey man! That's not how you talk to a girl!" Joe exclaimed.
Fred didn't reply as he continued to maneuver the vehicle. However, the silence that Fred replied with irritated Joe, so he got up, only to be pulled back down by George.
"Bruh, what the heck!?" Joe whisper shouted.
"You might disrupt his driving that might lead to an accident." George whispered.
"So what? I can't deal with a bas- I mean, a bully like him!" Joe said as he tried not to curse.
"Yes, I know, but you can't just attack him. Be more reasonable, Joe." George said, which only made Joe more annoyed.
Just as he was about to go on a rampage, Fred sighed and asked.
"Okay, why would you want to me to stop the van, Mari." Fred calmly asked.
Unbeknownst to Joe and George, Vlad quietly went to Fred and settled things with him while the two were arguing. Mari raised her head and spoke.
"Remember Grace from the mall?" Mari asked.
Fred slowed down the van as it soon came to a stop. The motorcycle that were following them stopped too, so Fred got out to deal with it. And because she knows the persons, she quietly followed Fred, only to be followed by the rest of the group.
"Now, what?" Fred asked to himself with a scowl on his face.
"Hey, you! Why did you speed up?" a girl with a her hair tied up asked as she got off the motorcycle.
"Well, I don't know. Maybe because you were suspiciously following us?"
"Yeah, no. We were just speeding up, because something was also following us, but luckily, we lost it. Then, we saw our friend waving at us, so we followed you and you sped up, because you think we were suspicious. Lance, you shouldn't have waved your arms like you were drowning!"
