The feeling of sleeping on a soft bed that is just right for you makes you want to sleep more, especially when your head is resting on the pillow's cool side. When the temperature around you is so cool. When the blanket is so fluffy and comfortable that you don't want to get off the bed.
'Is this my bedroom? Nah. Am I still dreaming? I don't know and I don't want to wake up. This feels so heavenly.' the girl thought as she nuzzled into the pillow and continued to stay comfortable.
"I hate being a reader insert. Why won't I just become the villain instead?"
The feeling of comfort was gone and was replaced by fear. A voice from outside was heard, so she covered herself with the blanket. She continued to listen for the person and clutched to the blanket. She would always do this whenever she's in bed and she feels scared.
She always thought back when she was a child that covering herself with a blanket will protect her from the monster seeing her. Now that she's a teen, she still covers herself with a blanket. She feels reassured whenever it wraps around her and makes her feel safe.
The door opened and a person quietly stepped inside. He was careful not to wake the sleeping girl, but she was already awake. This made her stay still, in hopes that the person would still think she's asleep.
She felt like she was being watched. The temperature of being wrapped with a blanket didn't help either. It was becoming too warm and she didn't like it, so she finally decided to just wake up and face the person.
She pretended to toss and turn until she slowly fluttered her eyes open, only to see a person sitting beside her, watching her with a smile on his face.
"Good morning, doll..." he said.
Mari blinked repeatedly before she replied.
"Good morning."
She wondered why he called her a doll. She then looked at what she was wearing. The last time she was awake, she was wearing a black dress, but now it was different. She now had a carnation pink dress with baby blue long sleeves. Her skirt was puffy and may be above the knee, just like the last one, but she didn't mind since she had baby blue knee socks, which didn't make it too revealing. It wasn't itchy nor too tight. It was just right and she surprisingly liked it.
"You're the one who picked the dress?" she asked.
The person nodded and she raised her eyebrows in surprise.
'Wow! This guy have a better fashion sense than me. Sana all.' she thought.
"It's very pretty." she commented, so the person smiled.
She then looked at the person who was sitting beside her. He had dark green hair and green eyes. He was wearing white long sleeves, black pants, a gray vest, black gloves and a red necktie. He looked like one of the villains that Mari once imagined, except he looked like he was the same age as her.
"What's your name, doll?" he asked and inched closer to her and she slightly moved away.
"I'm Marizhael De la Cruz, but just call me Mari. How about you? What's your name?" she asked.
His smile went wider as he chuckled in an unsettling manner. This made Mari's stomach churn. The way he laughed was quite uncanny.
"Zayn... Zayn Villa." he answered as he stared into her light brown eyes.
