Chapter 30

Mari was already awake by the time the guy placed her on what felt like a couch, but pretended to be asleep. The pain in her head stopped as soon as she felt like she entered a new place. She listened to the sounds around her as she tried not to seem like she was awake.

"Mmm. You really are a babe... just like what they described you." the guy said as he sat down beside her.

'Where in the world am I now? Last time I remember I was kidnapped, I was tied to a chair. And who is this person? Me? A babe? Last time I remember the word 'babe' was when I watched a movie where 'Babe' is a pig who thinks he's a dog.' she thought as she tried not to make any movement from what he just said.

The sound of a door opening was heard before two pairs of footsteps approached them. The two persons who just entered seemed like they were arguing about something. Mari decided to half open her eyes to see what was happening.

There was a person with brown hair and red eyes sitting beside her. He was wearing a black tank top, jeans, and black gloves. He didn't see her look at him as he watched the two argue.

'So, he's the one who called me 'babe'? And how did he get those muscles? Sana all muscles. I somehow wish I have muscles. Hahaha.' she thought and she tried holding back her laughter.

Just then, she saw the two figures in black suits stop beside her. One of them had his back facing her. Mari recognized the one who was facing her, but tried to pretend to be asleep as they continued on arguing.

"If I didn't do that, then she might have ended Zach on the spot." the person who was facing her said as he placed a hand on his temple.

"She won't kill Zach. She's programmed not to kill any humans." the other one argued.

"I don't think you heard that she once dissolved a person just because they cursed." the one she knew sighed.

The two stopped and became quiet when the other one of them mentioned a person getting dissolved.

'Dor? Who were you talking to? Who were you talking about? Lily? And who is this person beside me?' she asked herself as she watched the one who was facing her walk towards her.

She closed her eyes entirely and acted as if she was sleeping again. Just then, she heard a loud beep beside her where the guy was sitting, so she scrunched her face.

"What did you do that for, Zach?" the guy that Mari knew asked the guy beside her.

"I just wanted to see her wake up." Zach replied before looking at her with a smirk.

'How dare you! Nobody except Rie could wake me up if I'm still asleep! I didn't know you wanted to die today, stranger! What's your name again? Zach? Okay. Calm yourself down Mari. No one is getting hurt. Just calm down.' Mari thought as she pouted and turned her back on the guys.

"Well, I just have to let you know that Mari doesn't want anyone waking her up while she's asleep." the guy in a suit whom Mari knew said in a calm manner.

"You know quite too much about her, Dor. Is she your girlfriend?" Zach asked.

"She's my girl friend as in two words. Not one. Just like what she would always say." Dor replied.

'You really do know me, Dor. And I thought you weren't listening to me while I was talking back then. I want to see that familiar face.' she thought as she rubbed her eyes and slowly opened it.

When she finally got up, she acted like she just woke up and scanned the entire room from her left where no one was seen.

"Where am I? Am I still dreaming?" she asked.
