5. Taking steps

Carmen tried her best to lift herself up after two days of crying and sitting in bed. She stood up from her chair and made her way to open the blinds. She didn't talk to Corpse since she left his apartment. The sun rays came in her room, making her realise the mess that formed around her. She let out a sigh as she made her way to the desk only to play one song that she kept on repeat lately: Layto x Neoni - Ghost Town

Living in a ghost town" she sang along as she tidied up her bedroom. The music was loudly blasting from her speakers that she didn't even heard the door opening, Rae letting herself in.

"You singing it's a good sign, Carmy." Rae said. "I'm glad you're feeling better."

"Yeah... I do feel better. Anyway... I think I should stream today. Maybe an Among Us lobby? Can you ask the others? Also, you can ask Corpse if you want. I can face a game and a stream with him. At least, I think so." Carmen said as she sat at the her desk, her phone in her hands.

"Already did. Toast, Sykkuno, Jack, Felix, Poki, Jodi, Ludwig and Tina are up. Corpse also confirmed that he is playing. He also asked if you're playing too. I confirmed your presence already." Rae explained.

"Wow... Thank you Rae, for being two steps ahead of me." the blonde girl said before she let out a giggle. "I should announce people that I'm streaming. Also, I want to dye my hair. At least temporary. What colour should I do, Rae?"

"I don't know. A crazy colour?"

"I think I like the idea... Let's head to the store." Carmen said as she went to the dresser to get some clothes to change in.

"Ok. I'll see you in a bit." Rae said as she went out the door to go and change.

After the girls bought the dye and some snacks, they made their way back home and prepared the dye. After Carmen's hair was all soaked in the colour, she took her time to organise her setup, prepare her discord and twitch platform, setting the timer to go down until her stream begins. After she was done, she went to rinse her hair, the colours looking amazing.

"Oh, my God! It looks better than I expected!" Rae said as she admired Carmen's hair.

"I was sure that you will do a great job, Rae! I love it! Thank you so much!" Carmen said as she hugged her best friend. As Carmen hugged her friend, Kyle came in the living room, his mouth agape as he saw his sister's hair.

"Woah! That is something! But... when?" he asked

"I just rinsed it like 15 minutes ago. What do you think?" Carmen asked before she shook her head to reveal the colours even more.
