Beads of sweat were running down my face. How could I've been so stupid? I've been so caught up with Lee that I totally forgot to give back the ring. Oh God. Oh God. Celine stood in front of me with her hands on her hips waiting for my answer. Do I lie? Or do I tell the truth? I took off her ring and held it up as I smiled, I opened up my mouth to say something but closed it again. I was acting like an idiot.
Charlie. Focus! You are a professional here, you're not suppose to be falling head over heels for your sister's fiancee. What would that woman showing her muscle be saying to you right now?
I gave the ring to her with a calm look on my face, swallowed the lump that was growing in my throat and told her "Lee gave it to me... he was scared to lose it. So he told me to wear it," not the biggest lie I've told her. Celine took a few seconds looking at the ring before she smiled and grab it. She slipped it on her finger and admired it just like how I did last night. "Thank you sis, you're the best sister a girl could ever ask." She said as she pulled me into a hug. Guilt filled my every being. I felt like throwing up.
She pulled away and said "Mom is coming tomorrow to help with the wedding." as she twirled towards me living room, if I was a glass I would of cracked right now. "And you just tell me this now?" she looked at me and said "It has always slipped my mind, you can't expect me to remember somethng so small like mom's arrival while I have plenty of other things on my mind." But it wasn't so small having my mother here was pure hell. She will keep judging me until I do as she says, she wants everything her way. Aside from that Celine was right! I'm suppose to be preparing for her wedding yet here I was day dreaming and drooling over her fiancee. I make myself sick!
I darted towards the shower then threw on a black pencil skirt with a white button up shirt tucked into my skirt. I grabbed my black purse and put on some black heels as I started pushing my sister out, "what the hell Charlie!?" she shrilled "If you want your wedding to go according to your plan then I suggest you get your ass out of my apartment." I said as I struggled to close my jammed door. "Bye sis!" I quickly told her as I was off to my office. I walked in and saw Stella in her usual desk. "Charlie, a man named Ethan Hall wants a meeting with you next week. He says something along the lines of a surprise wedding." "Ok! Mark that on my schedule maybe around on a Wednesday at lunch time I suppose but tell him I am working on a very important wedding so I cannot put his wedding between now and the wedding of Celine." I blabbered on as I walked towards my office, "Oh and you have a visitor!" before I could ask who it was I found Lee standing in my office in a suit.
Chihuahua.
"I hope you don't mind-- I brought breakfast." he said shyly as he held up brown paper bags of Krispy Kreame. How could one not fall in love with Lee Pace? Tell me how and I would give a million bucks. "Oh, Are you here to discuss wedding plans?" I asked clearly surprise to see him here. I continued to walk towards my desk and he sat down in front. "I don't know, I am free this morning and Celine wants to go shopping with a few of her friends so I decided to drop by and check up.... on the wedding plans." he said naturally. "Well... I'm just getting to that." not gonna tell him that I was "Lee-Procrastinating".
I then got on the phone as I dialed a number to set up a meeting to try on bridal gowns and a few for the bridesmaid gowns and maid-of-honor. Then I dialed a number to get the decorations, pink balloons ready for the ceremony and the flower shop for the pink roses-- oh! I didn't forget the garden venue. I made all the calls and when I was on my last call which was the venue I looked up at Lee and saw him staring at me... smiling. "Great, me and the couple will be going there tomorrow to check on the venue. No, Thank you." I said as I put down the phone and asked Lee "Why are you staring at me?" "I'm just love looking at you... you really enjoy your job do you?" he asked
"Yes, of course! I'm practically married to my job. So tomorrow we are gonna go get Celine's gown along with the bridesmaids, flower girls, and the maid-of-honor. Your suit along with others will be no trouble then after that we'll be going to the venue to see if you and Celine are contented with it." I said trying my best to imagine I am talking to someone else and not Lee. "Great! Now eat." he said as he pushed 2 honey glazed donuts and a blueberry muffin towards me along with a cup of coffee.
"If I asked you... would you go on a date with me before I met Celine... would you?" Lee suddenly asked
I looked at him my mouth slightly opened and my eyes not believing that he is asking that question. "Would you?" he asked again just as I spaced out imagining me and him on a real date. But I answered with a "Maybe... Maybe not." as I shrugged my shoulders as if that question meant nothing to me. "And where would you like this date to be if ever I asked you out?" he asked, I thought long and hard. "Maybe at a small cafe... probably walking around the park go ice skating or something." I've always wanted to that with a guy, I mean I do it all the time with my job.
"Perfect,"
he said as he just walked out of the office.
Stella suddenly came in with a questioning look. "What happened?" she asked, how could I answer when I myself don't even know what the hell just happened.
"I have no idea Stella but one thing is for sure, that man is crazy."
