I felt like I was on a carousel spinning as fast as it could go with clowns laughing at my every move, every thought. Lights too bright. Horses taunting me with their wide eyes and open mouths. It kept spinning and spinning and spinning until the whole world is just a blur of colors.
"I can't believe he didn't tell me anything!" I yelled as I paced around my office, "Maybe he--" before Stella could say anything else I started rambling on with words that could pierce through Lee and possibly knock out Celine. "Augh! And he had the balls to ask me on a date!" "Technically it wasn't a date," Stella tried convincing me it wasn't a mistake but her efforts simply are going to waste. "And to think I actually let a boy come into my life. The only boy I thought was okay to fall in love with! Oh my God!" I started panicking. "What?" Stella asked, concerned.
"I'm married Stella! I practically cheated on my job!" I could see Stella rolling her eyes. My job, the only thing that will never cheat on me. That will never break my heart, I started gathering myself as I ran a hand through my blonde hair and said "I can take care of this, I mean I just met the guy... besides there are a lot of fish in the sea... Lee means nothing. I'm gonna plan Celine's wedding like I usually plan others," calmly. But as Lee's face burned inside my head I slammed a stack of files on my desk and shouted like I have totally lost it, "Because I'm a professional!"
"Take a chill pill woman, you're losing your panties," Stella said as she offered me tea. I grabbed the tea cup and drank it down in one go. I regretted it once my throat burnt from the hotness. I garbbed the paper that had Celine's cursive handwriting on it with pink markers. Her list for her wedding.
*Pink roses
"Seriously!? Pink roses!" I complained, what's so romantic about Pink roses?
*Different shades of pink balloons
"What is this!? Some kind of birthday party?!"
*Invitations shall be inside a balloon, delivered by a beautiful woman on a horse, and the people have to pop the balloons to see if they're invited... or not
Stop it right here! What's wrong with my sister!? You know how much this will cost!? "My sister has a very ridiculous wedding," "It's your sister, what wedding do you want?" Stella asked, "Behind my desk," was all I answered. Stella rolled her eyes, "Ever since I have been working for you... I have always imagine you planning my wedding in a small but beautiful garden, with different colored lanterns," Stella said dreamily. Yes, I have always imagined my wedding to be during night at a beach with rose petals as my aisle leading to the judge and my groom, candles everywhere. During dinner people sit on the sand and eat from a small but formal table.
There was always a reason why I ended up with this job... single. I have always imagined my wedding since I was just a 4 year old. Wittnessing people get married was awesome. I would always imagine myself behind the veil staring at the gorgeous man standing at the end of the aisle. Ever since I attended my first wedding, I've been dressing up in different types of dresses pretending I was in my own wedding. Everyday is a different theme, different venue. I've been too busy planning and thinking of my own wedding, of different people's weddings that I totally ignored all the applicants who want to be standing at the end of my own aisle.
"That's if you can afford me," I said to Stella who now scowled at me. I don't do weddings for free. I need to make a living. I threw the paper in the air and walked all the way to my office window giving a beautiful view of New York and I slammed my head on the glass. "What's next on the list?" I asked but only came out as a muffled sound. "She wants butterflies released once she and the groom are finally husband and wife," I groaned as loud as I could. The phone from Stella's desk rang and she ran for it. I then sat behind my desk and rubbed my poor temples that were suffering from a headache.
"Charlie, telephone--" before Stella could finish her sentence I cut her off by turning off the speaker and picked up my phone, "Charlotte Planning, how may I help you?" I asked in my most enthusiastic voice. "Uhhh... Charlie?" his velvet filled my ears and I couldn't help when a shiver ran down my spine. "Why are you calling me?" I asked through gritted teeth. He knew I was pissed with him because he didn't tell me he was getting married or that he wasn't available, he led me on. "Celine wanted to schedule for food tasting and cake tasting," he said "Let me guess she wants a hundred layers for her cake?" "No, just about five hundred cupcakes," I slammed my head on my desk and mumbled "Great,"
"Also she wants me and you to go pick out the horse for the invitation and her carriage to get to the venue," He said, wow! She seriously is going all out. "Why me and you? What about her?" I asked not wanting to go near Lee but at the same time I want to. "She will be at the spa that day," he said, I raise my eyebrows even though he couldn't see me. "You already have a schedule?" "Yes, tomorrow," he said. We said our goodbyes then I slammed my phone down and I threw papers everywhere as I shouted, "I'm professional God damn it!"
