Broken Clocks by SZA

ANOTHER REMINDER, LUCA IS MESSIAH, MESSIAH IS LUCA.

Messiah's POV
My head was killing me, it felt like I had been hit by an 18 wheeler. And the music that my home boys were blasting wasn't making it no better. My thoughts were racing as I kept replaying my blow up with Ephesia earlier in my head. I felt guilty but my pride wouldn't allow me to apologize.

The truth was Ephesia was my everything and seeing her texting some dude, or let alone him called her phone wasn't sitting right with me, I know I might've over reacted but, that was just me.

"Luca!"
I heard Elijah call me, my older brother. My head swiveled in his direction.

"What you over there looking all sad for?"
Elijah chuckled, knowing good and well that it was about Ephesia.
His question made everyone else in the house look in my direction.

"These niggas."
I mumbled.

"More like who!"
Ahkeem laughed, I rolled my eyes ignoring them.

"Yeahh, who?"
JR joined in.

"Get off my dick."
I continued to ignore them and began to scroll down my Instagram timeline.

Elijah😈
It's Ephesia ain't it?

Luca🤐
You already know.

He left me on read and signaled for me to follow him out of the house. I up and followed him towards the door.

"Y'all fell out again?"
He mushed my head. For him to be only a year older than he, he acted like he was my daddy.

"Ain't no again, it's just some stupid shit man."
I shrugged.

"You always in some stupid shit, what's new?"
He never really understood how me and Ephesia became to be. I even think he had a little crush on her back then. She was the shy girl in the back of the class and I was the bad boy. We met when I was in 11th grade and she was still a baby freshman— in Communications, a class that I was retaking. We sat across from one another and we soon being to talk. She had a nice little head on her shoulders and a great personality to go along with it. Next thing I knew, we were best friends.

Elijah was a senior by then, and at the time all he knew about me was that I what he called "a fast ass". A new girl every week. But Ephesia was different, she soon became everything I needed.

"Man it's not like that I said."
I said getting frustrated, it seemed like no one understood me.

"No tell me what's up. Take a ride with me, we got drops to make anyways."
I shook my head, but obliged hopping into his RAM 1500.

He pulled out of Ahmari's drive way.
"So what's up, what happened between y'all that got you in this sourpuss ass mood?"
He hit the highways going towards Bakersfield.

"She talking to some nigga, and I guess I blew up. She made me give her my key back and everything."

"You just "blew up" that it? And why can't she talk to other people? Last time I checked you told me y'all want together. Y'all just best friends. What's the full story?"

"She was sleep and some nigga named Christopher kept calling her, so I answered. Obviously he didn't except another man to answer, so he just told me to tell E to call him when she was available. So when she got up and was getting ready for work I questioned her and asked her who this nigga was. She said he was a friend but I want buying that shit and I got mad. She was ignoring and I blew up when she tried to walk out of the door, I grabbed her arm. Too hard I guess because she started to cry and I left a bruise."
I shrugged, starting to feel a little guilty now that I admitted I was wrong.
