I Want You Around by Snoh Aalegra

LUCA IS MESSIAH
MESSIAH IS LUCA sorry if there is any confusion.

Ephesia's phone rung as she placed her school books aside and began to prepare for bed. Picking it up she placed it to her ear without looking to see who it was calling.

"Hello?"

"I'm bout to pull up, I need you."
She could heard Messiah's heavy voice and shallow breathing choking up through the phone.

"Ok, come straight here Messiah. I don't need you driving out there like this."
He hung up and Ephesia sighed. She went to unlock the door before going back to her room to wait on Messiah.

Hearing the front door open and his familiar foot steps walk towards her room. His eyes were bloodshot red and the cornrows she had done only 4 days ago were a frizzy mess. His jeans hung off of his waist, his wife beater was scrunched and twisted.

Her eyes saddened seeing her friend in such a broken state. She watched him undress and throw his outside clothes into her dirty clothes hamper-- leaving him in his basket ball shorts and socks. She stretched her arms and he crawled into them.

The warmth of her body allowed his muscles to relax-- his eyes began to produce tears once again. They sat in silence until Ephesia felt that Messiah was comfortable enough to talk to her.

"Tell me what's wrong pooh."
Ephesia cradled Messiah in her arms as she witnessed her bestfriend break down harder.

All that could be heard was the soft music that played in the back ground and his soft sobs-- muffled by her shirt.

"I'm just tired, so damn tired. I even tried giving her some money-- like if that's my child of course I'm going to take care of it and it's mother. She's making life fucking hell, I swear."
His tears coated her shirt as they spilled from his eyes like a river.

Ephesia had never seen him cry like this before, he was always the strong protector type. But even they needed a break and someone to abide in. She ran her fingers across his scalp-- trying her best to sooth him.

"I keep trying, don't shit seem to work no more. E I'm telling you, that girl want my money and that's it. I promise on my life that I'm trying to help her out-- like how the hell you say no to a better living situation?!"

"No, no-- no. Calm down Siah, I don't like it when you start yelling."
Messiah sighed and nodded

"I just need to get away-- away from all this bullshit."
She cringed hearing his voice crack. His grip on her waist tightened, scared that his only piece of sanity left, was going to slip away from him too.

"I know, I know. I swear it'll get better. Just keep trying ok? You know I'm always here for you Siah."
She cooed, feeling his heart rate beginning to slow back to normal.

"It feel like you the only one here for me. I swear you all I need."
He admitted as a silence fell over them as they laid there. Completely still, just in silence.

He readjusted their body's, pulling her leg over his torso and his arms around her thick waist. His scruffy beard tickling her neck as he buried his head into the crook of it. She felt his breathing begin to slow back to its regular rhythm.
