"What?" Sierra's mom said pausing the tv and turning around. "Here's your mail," Sierra said handing the pile of mail to her mom. "Thanks dear, " her mom replied taking the mail for Sierra's hands. "Hey Sierra, how was practice?" her dad asked. "It was cancelled," Sierra said walking away from them. "Sierra, wait," her mom said turning to the tv "do you know anything about this?". Sierra's mom pressed play on the remote, a picture of Sierra's school popped up into the screen. The next picture was of the gym and the lady twisted into the volleyball net. The next was of policemen collecting data from the lady and the blood on the floor. Sierra's mom paused the tv. Both of her parents stared at her, waiting for an answer. "Y-Yes" Sierra said after a short pause. "Did you see it happen?" her dad asked. "No," she replied looking down at the floor. "Honey, tell us what happened," her mom said putting a hand on her daughters shoulder. Sierra took a deep breath, "Bailey and I were down in the locker rooms, after a while we decided to ask the coach if she could get the volleyballs out of the supply closet so we could begin to warm up. When she went into the gym to unlock the closet, we discovered that," Sierra said pointing to the tv. "Okay, why don't you go upstairs and do your homework," her mom said, "I'm going to begin dinner". Sierra walked out of the kitchen and went up the stairs. She heard her older brother Alex playing video games in his room. She could tell he was playing Call of Duty because his sound was up so loud she could hear it through the door. She walked down the hallway to her baby sister's room. Sophie had been crying but no one could hear her. Her eyes were all red when Sierra picked her up out of the crib. Sierra grabbed some toys out of Sophie's toy box and walked out of the room. Sierra went up the last flight of stairs to her bedroom. Sierra had gotten the attic when Sophie was born, but she was fine with it because it was a bigger room than her old room. Sierra had taken almost 3 weeks to design her bedroom. She wanted the walls grey with yellow swirls on them. She wanted a yellow and grey comforter and pillows for her bed. She also had a window seat, she wanted pillows for that too. Her dad had built Sierra bookshelves so Sierra could show off all of her books. Sierra sat the baby toys on her bed and walked over to the bookshelves. She grabbed a nursery rhyme book that her grandma had gotten her when she was a little baby. With Sophie in her arms and the book in her hands, Sierra sat down on the window seat and began to flip through the book. She picked her favorite nursery rhyme, Old McDonald, and began to read it to Sophie. Sophie had paid attention for most of the nursery rhyme but then she began to squirm around on Sierra's lap. Sierra sat the book down on the window seat and picked up Sophie. Sierra sat Sophie on the floor and grabbed the toys off her bed. She sat on the floor with Sophie and began to play with her. "Sierra, time to eat!" her mom said up the steps, "bring Sophie please,". Sierra picked up Sophie and went down the stairs for dinner.
