Murder on the Court

Chapter 14

"I just got an email from your volleyball coach, practice starts up again next week," Sierra's mom said looking up at Sierra who was sitting on the couch. The family had just gotten home from Kalahari after dropping Bailey off at her house. "Do you still want to play volleyball?" her mom asked after Sierra didn't answer her. "Oh, uh yeah," Sierra said. Sierra wasn't in the mood for conversation, she had been doing research on the murderer. There hadn't been any murders since the one at the YMCA. Sierra could hardly find any information on him, he never left any clues and no one had ever seen his face. The only thing she could find was that he left a bloody handprint at each scene. Sierra was ready to give up, she really wasn't in the mood to do anymore research. Sierra closed her laptop and stood up from the couch. "I'm going upstairs," she said to her mom. "Okay, dinner will be ready in about an hour," her mom said as she stirred a pot of noodles on the stove. Sierra ran up the stairs to her bedroom. She flopped down on the bed and sighed, "What am I gonna do?". She closed her eyes and ran her fingers through her hair. "Bah," Sophie said as she crawled in. Sierra sat up and smiled at the sight of her sister. "Hey Soph," Sierra said picking Sophie up from the floor. Sophie smiled and rubbed her eyes. Sierra laid down and held Sophie close to her. Sierra watched as Sophie's eyes began to close. "I can't have anything happen to you guys," Sierra said silently. At that moment Sierra knew what she had to do, she had to meet the murderer. She just didn't know how. She decided to ask the one person who she knew she could count on.

Sierra: I need help
Bailey: What'd you do now😂
Sierra: I'm in serious trouble. At Kalahari I got a note that said to meet someone at 9:30 or else they would go after my family. I didn't go meet them and I'm worried.
Bailey: Who was the note from?
Sierra: It didn't say directly but I think it was the murderer. He knows that I saw him at the school. And now he's going for my family.
Bailey: Has he done anything yet?
Sierra: No, but I have a feeling he's planning something.
Bailey: I'm not gonna get in this. Tell your parents and have them call the police....
Sierra: You know I can't do that though

Sierra never got a reply back.
