Wednesday
Location: School

"Get in your positions!" I heard my coach yell.

I ran to the starting line along with 9 other guys, I'm the only girl, well, was. 1 girl quit, one had to quit, and one moved. I was kinda bummed out, I don't like being the only girl on the team.

"Wait!" My coach yelled.

He was talking to a boy who looked my age.

He's cute I thought.

He pointed next to me.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is ponyboy Curtis, he's going to try out today!" The coach yelled.

I think he's the boy who saved those kids from the fire 2 years ago.

I saw him running my way.

He stood next to me and started stretching.

"Hey!" I heard one of my teammates, dan, yell.

Pony turned around.

"You good at running," he asked.

"Yeah, I guess" he answered.

"Well, let's see if you can beat willy here," he said pointing towards me.

"My names willow, you idiot" I fired.

They call me willy because they know I don't like the name. They've been doing that since the day I won the race.

Ponyboy was extremely nervous, he's pretty fast but never tried out for a team before.

"Alright, get in your positions!" Coach started.

I got in my position along with everybody else and got ready.

"On your mark, get set...
go!"

We all ran at the same time.

A guy in a blue shirt and shorts was last.

Me in first and dan in second.

It was going well until, the new kid, started to catch up.

I ran faster, then so did he.

Oh god

I tried running faster, but when I tried he just kept catching up.

I was almost there, and my legs were starting to burn.

I looked at him, he smiled, then winked.

Right, when I was almost there I fell.
(  author: I know, I know, it's embarrassing)

I felt stinging sensations, on my knees, stomach, hands, and the side of my face.

I heard Oooos and laughs. My face went red.

"You okay" I heard someone say.

I looked up to see ponyboy, stretching his hand out.

"I'm fine," I said getting up, looking down, hoping he wouldn't see my face.

I looked at my hands, then lifted my shirt a little to see what injury I had on my stomach.

"Looks like ponyboy here won," dan said putting his arm over him.

"Alright, will, go to the infirmary," my coach said.

I grabbed my bag and walked away.

It wasn't the idea that I fell in front of everyone, am I gonna make the team ?

The nurse literally just gave me an ice pack and a wet towel.

"Seriously" I muttered under my breath.

The nurse left, to who knows where.

*knock, knock* I heard.

"Come in!"

"Uh hi," he said.

"Hi?

"I just wanted to apologize, for embarrassing you out there," he said.

"You didn't embarrass me" I tried.

"Yeah, that's why your face was like a tomato" he chuckled.

I looked at him, "my face was not like a tomato!" I glared at him.

"Okay, sorry," he said.

Pony truly did feel bad, he embarrassed her in front of everyone, and she might not make the team.

"Whatever" she muttered and got off the table.

She grabbed her bag and walked out.

"Wait-"

"Bye, bye, horse boy!" She exclaimed and went to her next class.
